Description
'Granny's Garden' is a completely unique and private camping experience in rural Nottinghamshire. Guests have sole use of the 24ft wide tipi, spacious woodland-garden and all facilities. This is the perfect place for a peaceful and isolated break, away from modern technology, and with lots of history and countryside on the doorstep. We welcome guests with positive reviews and a respect for nature - couples, families, friendship groups (no parties please!) and people of all backgrounds. The space The tipi can sleep up to 6 adults with various bed combinations possible. It is fully furnished with a double sofa bed and floor mattresses which can be separated into seating cushions in the daytime, or stacked out of the way to really enjoy the whole space. All essentials are provided, whilst keeping the space simple and clutter-free. Inside the tipi: beds and bedding, two large cosy chairs, coconut matting, fairy lights, chest of drawers , cooking facilities, cool box, low-level table and wood-burning stove with logs provided. The shed outside houses a cold water tap with fresh filtered water, washing-up area and a compost toilet. A shower hose connects the tap to a tree nearby where guests can enjoy an invigorating cold shower! The woodland-garden has tree hammocks, a den, tyre swing, see-saw, BBQ, outside seating, lovely mature trees and wildlife. What can guests do at Granny's Garden? PLAY! Release your child (or inner child) with our selection of indoor and outdoor toys, musical instruments and den. RELAX in hammocks under the trees and drift into pure contentment. EXPLORE the countryside. There are lots of walks and cycle routes on the doorstep, as well as country parks and nature reserves. Newark and Nottingham are both around 30 minutes drive away for your fix of culture, bars and shops. ESCAPE from modern life, go back to a simple, natural existence with no electricity or wifi. (although there is good 4G signal if needed!) Other things to note We are surrounded by fields so occasionally the farmers will be busy with their tractors. The farmers are quite particular about who walks around the access roads and fields, so please stick to the public footpaths only. There is a hole at the top of the tipi with a hat which keeps out the rain. In very heavy rain there may be some slight dripping, but since the tipi is so big it doesn't create a problem for guests inside. If a storm is predicted for your stay you are welcome to re-schedule for another time. All surfaces and equipment are cleaned and disinfected thoroughly in between guests. The tipi is left empty for at least one day before each booking. There is a railway nearby, you can hear the occasional train but this is a good enough distance away to not be disturbing. The space is suitable for children, although note that the wood burner is very hot to the touch, and as you would expect in a woodland setting there is uneven ground and nettles.
