Centrally located in Point Lookout, across the road from Frenchman’s Beach, and within about 400 metres of all beaches as well as the shops, cafes and the North Gorge Walk, this Straddie beach house offers guests a truly unique experience. The space Designed and built by architect Chris Hills, it is a simple and functional beach house that nestles into the landscape. With a timber interior throughout, lofty cathedral ceilings, polished timber floors and an impressive open plan kitchen, dining and living area, it welcomes the cool breezes of the island. The house has been designed without screens to enable better cross flow ventilation or can be closed down for a cosy winter stay. We have 3 Vornado fans. Mossie coils are included but rarely required. Outside, backing onto the National Park of Lighthouse Hill, enjoy the generous indoor/outdoor entertaining deck, gas BBQ and hot/cold outdoor shower. Sleeping up to 6 people within the 2 bedrooms and 2 daybeds ( these are in the general living area, not a bedroom), this property is ideal for a memorable beach holiday. As there are no security screens ( or mosquito screens) we do not accept bookings with young children - From about 6 yrs of age. There is one indoor shower and one toilet which are separate, plus another hot/cold outdoor shower by the back stairs. As we do not spray for insects, you will notice the occasional gecko in the house - and they can leave the odd deposit!! Wifi not provided. LINEN PROVIDED - JUST A BEACH TOWEL IS NEEDED!! PROVIDED: - Clothes Washing Detergent - Toilet Paper - Shower Gel - Hand Wash - Dish Washing Detergent - Garbage bags NO DISHWASHER - Back to basics!! PLAYING CARDS AND VARIOUS BOARD GAMES (Removed at present due to Covid19 Pandemic.) Check in after 2:00 pm Check out is at 10:00 am There is a Nespresso Pod Coffee maker (with pods to get you going!!!) , a coffee plunger, tea pot and coffee/tea bags provided to get you started. Pods are available at the IGA (Bobs shop) or bring your own. Basic condiments are in the pantry (salt/pepper, olive oil, Vegemite). Wallabies and kangaroos frequent the backyard often, grazing in the afternoon. The occasional koala can be heard at night. There is a spare gas cylinder under the BBQ should you need another. If you do need to refill, swap the cylinder at BOBS SHOP, keep the receipt and we will reimburse you. ***NO DISHWASHER - Back to basics. ***ALL GAMES, CARDS ETC HAVE BEEN REMOVED IN LINE WITH COVID19 CLEANING. ALL KITCHEN CROCKERY, UTENSILS, GLASSES ETC ARE TO BE WASHED, DRIED AND PUT AWAY PRIOR TO DEPARTURE. PLEASE ENSURE THAT THE BBQ IS LEFT CLEAN AND LOCKED AND THE GAS IS TURNED OFF AT THE CYLINDER PRIOR TO DEPARTURE. BOTH BINS TO BE PUT OUT ON THE CURBSIDE ON SUNDAYS FOR COLLECTION ON MONDAY AND ON DEPARTURE PLEASE. PLEASE ENSURE ALL WINDOWS AND DOORS X 4 ( SLIDING DOOR, SIDE DOOR, TOILET AND BATHROOM DOOR ) ARE LOCKED ON DEPARTURE. Please place the wooden dowel sticks in the window tracks on the 3 windows.
