Description

The main building of Suoniemi's Old Parsonage is located in the countryside by Kulovesi, in the middle of a peaceful cultural landscape and as part of a living courtyard. There is a 340-square-meter, remarkable log building built in 1883. The large but cozy house has 3 bedrooms (4+3 beds), a dining room, a hall, a library, a kitchen, 2 hallways, 3 toilets/bathrooms, a utility room and a sauna section with a single-heated Aito wood-burning stove. There is also a barbecue canopy in the yard. #suoniemenvanhapappila The space The old wooden house is spacious and in the undulating countryside you feel like resting. The rectory has an extensive library, which is easy to immerse yourself in when the summer wind tickles your toes or the frost is cracking outside. Guests usually have the opportunity to borrow: a rowboat, a fishing rod, a bicycle and a kick sled. Please ask for more information about these if needed. Guest access There is ample parking space in the yard. In the courtyard of the rectory there is also a barbecue canopy, a lean-to, a cellar, a barn and a woodshed, a dog yard and the house of the hosts (an old barn). The bus to Sarkola runs from Nokia a couple of times a day on school days. The bus stop is about 500m from the house. The village's gravel roads are quiet and there is plenty of forest around for long walks. In the courtyards of the surrounding houses, you can also see domestic animals and in the nature, deer, roe deer and other forest animals. There is a private pier and a public swimming area on the beach. There is a 200m long quiet gravel road leading to it. Clean and beautiful Kulovesi is one of Finland's best trout waters and in winter there is ice for good perch fishing spots only 500m away. Nokian River Golf is located about 10 km away and Ellivuori Resort with ski slopes is 20 km away from Pappila. The store in Nokia is 15 km away and the nearest restaurant, Siuron Koski-Ba-Baari, is about 3 km by water (27 km by road). Other things to note The property is charmingly rustic, but all modern amenities can be found. The vicarage has 3 bedrooms with beds 180 cm, 120 cm and 90 cm wide. In addition, there are 3 extra beds that can be placed in the space you prefer. In winter, you need wool socks in the house :) The house has a wood-burning sauna, which is equipped with a large, single-heated Aito stove. The stove is heated by burning 2-3 bundles of wood, after which the sauna stays warm for about 6-8 hours. More detailed heating instructions can be found at the property. **Heating the sauna on behalf of the guest costs €40/heating. Please let us know in advance if you are interested in this service, as it takes about 2-3 hours to heat the sauna.**
