A perfect place to relax and reconnect with nature The space Located in the heart of National park and just a short stroll from the entrance to the world heritage Mt Field Nt Park, Russell falls and Tyenna river. The space provides guests the perfect place to unwind and reconnect with nature while immersing yourself in some of the most picturesque locations southern Tasmania has to offer. Surrounded by a hub of native flora and fauna, pristine running streams, tall growth trees and many breathtaking waterfalls. Maydena bike park , Junee cave , Styx tall tree reserve & Horse shoe falls all just a short drive away. Alma cottage hosts 3 bedrooms all fitted with large light filled windows . Electric blankets and heaters for extra warmth in winter. A spacious open plan kitchen, dining and living room featuring a big wood heater to keep the place cosy and warm on those cold Tasmanian winter nights . Leading off the open plan living space are spacious front and back verandas. The perfect space to enjoy your morning coffee while soaking up some morning sunshine with a friendly kookaburra or sit back and relax with a wine and admire a beautiful sunset while being entertained by the resident wildlife. On the back veranda you will find a chest with plenty of fire wood provided for your use of the wood heater and outdoor fire pits. There is also space to safely store your bikes or fishing rods. There is a wash spot for your bikes out the back located between carport and shed if Maydena bike parks on your list of things to do. We also have a great stock of board games and some kids toys and books available for use and your welcome to read any reading material in the living room cupboard . The kitchen is well equipped with: - plenty of good quality cooking equipment / kitchen essentials to make cooking hassle free. - large fridge / freezer - espresso coffee machine / coffee grinder / plunger/ peculator - sandwich press - kettle/toaster - microwave - soda stream - blender We provide essential grocery items : - cling wrap, baking paper and foil - tea , coffee and sugar - olive oil, salt and pepper, some herbs and spices , and a few extra pantry items in the cupboard -paper towel - dishwashing liquid and sponges - toilet paper - hand sanitizer and soap/ body wash/ shampoo and conditioner. All towels and bedroom linen are provided *You will need to come well provisioned with groceries for your stay*. There are no shops in national park. There is a small general store in Westerway with limited opening hours that stocks basic grocery supplies of bread and milk and the Fikka time cafe in Maydena also stocks some limited grocery items . The nearest supermarket is in New Norfolk 37klm away . Eating out options: * In the visitor centre of Mt field national park , waterfalls cafe is open from 7-4 everyday serving coffee, breakfast, lunch and afternoon tea. Ten minutes drive away in Maydena is Fikka time cafe open 10-3 most days. 7klm away in westerway is the possum shed cafe open 10-2. westerway rd house serves takeaway food until 4pm and stocks limited food supplies open from 7am-6pm daily. To ensure the highest standards of cleanliness and comfort, we charge a cleaning fee for a professional cleaner and professional laundry service for linen and towels to ensure we adhere to sanitising regulations & keeping our guests safe and covid free . Guest access There is ample space on the property your welcome to make your self comfortable anywhere within the house and in the big fenced yard. Only places off limits are the 2 locked sheds . . Other things to note Clean and well behaved Pets are welcome at The cottage however we ask that you notify the host before making the booking with us to tell us a little about your pet so we can inform you some further details to ensure our place is suitable . Please be aware that the yard is not fully secure in some parts and part of this adjoins the main road. Due to this for your pets safety they are not permitted to be left at the property while you venture out for the day. If you bring your 4 legged friend we appreciate you considering the comfort of other future guests by bathing and worming them before your stay with us . It will be your responsibility to clean up after your pet and keeping them off the the lounges and beds is a must .
