Cosy cottage for two, dog friendly with log burner

A warm Welsh Croeso (welcome) awaits at Y Gorlan, a beautifully renovated cottage combining rural charm with first class luxury. Created just-for-two and perfect for pets, this home from home is perfect for a relaxing and indulgent getaway. Y Gorlan is located in the heart of Snowdonia National Park, in the town of Dolgellau, with access to miles of walks and bike rides, ideal for anyone wanting to explore the Snowdonia National Park and North Wales. The space Located in a quiet street, but only a couple of minutes’ walk to the centre of the town. With shops and cafes and bars, many of which allow dogs inside with well behaved owners. The accommodation is as follows: Ground floor: Enters into an open plan kitchen/living room, the fully fitted kitchen area has an electric hob and oven, a microwave, toaster, kettle, fridge with freezer compartment, dishwasher and a washer dryer. A welcome pack which will include dishwasher and laundry detergent tablets and other goodies will be awaiting you. The lounge area has a smart TV and log burner. From October to April the log burner will be ready to light and enough logs are provided for an evening. First Floor: Relax in an extremely comfortable king size bed with an award-winning Emma mattress and Egyptian cotton bed linen. The bedroom has a feature fireplace and smart tv, a perfect setting to unwind after a busy day out walking in the stunning countryside. The modern en-suite bathroom has a spacious rainfall shower. We provide shampoo, conditioner, shower gel and soap for your convenience. Outside: The front of the cottage is a small courtyard, which is a lovely suntrap to sit on the bench and watch the world go by. The back of the property has a private enclosed patio. There is a bike wall anchor point for those wanting to secure their bikes. Miscellaneous: There is free WiFi at the property. Electricity, heating, bed linen and towels are all included. Up to 2 small well behaved dogs may stay at Y Gorlan, although please remember that you cannot leave dogs unattended in the cottage alone. Please note, we have retained the property's original stair case which is narrow and quite steep. Regrettably no smoking is allowed. Guest access Parking is available locally on street or in the long stay car park (parking permit provided) 5 minutes walk away. Other things to note Dolgellau is steeped in history and was formerly the county town of Merionethshire (now Gwynedd). Its main bridge over the Afon Wnion dates back to 1638. Spend time walking around Dolgellau’s narrow streets and squares and you will soon spot signs of its past. There are plenty of walks meandering through the Welsh Countryside with the start of the popular flat Mawddach Trail which follows the old railway bed to the lovely seaside town of Barmouth, less than 5 minutes from the front door. If hurtling down hills on two wheels is your thing, then Dolgellau is the nearest town to Coed y Brenin Mountain Bike Centre and further north you have the rugged slate tracks of Antur Stiniog in Blaenau Ffestiniog. For the adrenaline junkies there’s Llechwedd in Blaenau Ffestiniog with Caverns to explore, zip lining, bounce below (an underground net adventure). Dolgellau is well placed for anglers wanting to cast a line either in Welsh mountain lakes or over 13 miles of fishing available on the Mawddach and Wnions rivers. We can arrange for angling permits and also put you in touch with a local guide. If sea fishing is your thing, Dolgellau is well placed for access to angling in North Cardiagan Bay. Other towns you may like to visit during your stay are: Barmouth (10 miles), Harlech (21 miles), Aberdyfi (23 miles), Blaenau Ffestiniog (23 miles), Porthmadog (25 miles), Caernarfon (43 miles), Llandudno (52 miles).
