Description
Here in the rustic Dutch countryside, it's hard to imagine the vibrant city of Amsterdam is just a stone's throw away (20km). You're welcome to retreat in this converted hayloft with a wide view over a protected bird reserve (and a new, floor-heated bath room). The gardens offer plenty of cosy spots to enjoy an early (or late) breakfast or summer evening, as well as fruit trees and a fresh vegetable garden. The three generations of our family who live here, will happily help you out. The space On the first floor, the hayloft is converted into a small studio, overlooking the countryside/bird reserve, where a huge variety of birds (and hares) can be seen. A table for two and a desk have been built making use of fallen trees in the garden and reclaimed building materials. A kitchenette, always stacked with fresh beans to grind and organic tea, offers the possibility to do some very simple cooking (one portable induction cooktop). The lounge-area can be easily converted into a high quality two person bed at night. The tiny library offers a selection of short stories, essays and poetry, and we are happy to advise you on locally craft beers ;) On the ground floor, you will find your private entrance and a new, floor-heated bath room. In the gardens, there are quite a few of excellent spots to chill out, ranging from a secluded bench overlooking the countryside, to a breakfast table in our tiny forest. There, you can also find our fruit trees and vegetable garden; we're more than happy to share some of our produce. Our grounds are also surrounded by small farmers canals that are full of fish: in the evening you can sometimes see them pop up above the surface. In the back of our grounds there's a relaxed and secluded fishing spot and 150 meters away is a well stacked fishing shop (be aware that for fishing in Holland a permit - called 'vispas' - is required) Other things to note Toddler warning: two toddlers are roaming freely around our premises. They are known to produce chatter, cheering and an occasional cry. We do try to keep them a bit quiet in the mornings (and no guest has ever complained), but some of their cheers might find their way through the two doors and one floor between The Hayloft and our house. So if you're allergic to toddler chatter: please do reconsider staying here. In the future we might buy them their own little muzzles. COVID-19 Obviously, we follow a strict protocol concerning COVID-19 safety regulations, including a cleaning protocol and maintaining a respectful distance towards our guests. Guests have their own private entrance. Registration details 04791843fc0d9212deb2
