Welcome to your place in Asuncion. The apartment has a beautiful view from the balcony, to the city, the Paraguay river and the prime minister's palace. It has a comfy double bed (160cm, most places have just 140cm), a shower with handheld showerhead (most places have just overhead mounted showers) and a fully equipped cozy kitchen (most places just don't have a welcoming one), with a warm, artsy atmosphere. A good place to relax, spend quality time as couple, work or just explore the city. I designed the space myself with the help of some architect friends. The art is pieces that I love, and as I like to cook, the kitchen is just right to do that. Having a glass of wine, a smoke, or dinner at the balcony is amazing. The bed is comfy, and the bathroom is above standard for the area (I have been to many AirBnbs, and hostels, and hate the dredging moment, when the cold water comes from the overhead shower, and I have to stand at the side not to get freezing cold water. Not happening here : ) The location is also great, and Asuncion is a great city for arts and culture. I found a group on social media that you should join to see what is going on in the city. It is called AsuArte, and people post about 5 to 10 events daily from Jazz to pop to dance to classic. The whole appartment is privately yours. After your reservation I will send you a map with a lot of helpful information to go around in the center and in the vincinity of the appartment. Find cultural centers with amazing garden atmosphere in the city, an old factory transformed into theater, dance and cultural center, free weekly world class classical concert venues, Jazz, Rock, circus, food, delights, as well as practicals as laundry, supermarket and souvenirs. You should definitely enjoy the sunset at the beach promenade 3 blocks from the appartment and enjoy dinner at some of the most vibrant places close to the main square about 5 blocks from the appartment. The municipality theater about 5 min walk is world class and has weekly live performances that could be as well in Vienna or New York. Manzana de la Riviera, just down the street is a multifunctional cultural center with exhibitions, outdoor cafe with a view, exhibitions, theater and music. Did I mention the amazing cocktail bars in Asuncion (World class!) You can eat like a king for very little money just around the block omnivore or vegan, as you like. Have an amazing time in Asuncion! At very many places you can walk within 3 to 15 minutes by day and night. Asuncion is a very safe city if you stick to the center, which is very well iluminated and policed. If you go a little further from the center, you can take an Uber, or the very well established (but at the first sight slightly confusing) bus "collectivo" system. I recommend to get mobile internet for online maps, uber, translation and other services you might like. Very many places also offer free Wifi. Mobile internet/phone cards from the companies Claro, Tigo or Personal (I recommend Claro) are cheap, and easily available and you can buy daily or weekly internet packs. If you go around by vehicle, avoid the rush hours of the early morning or from 16:30 to 18:00 where traffic is quite heavy. During the day it is quite easy to get around with a vehicle, going around the center, enjoy the walks. As the appartment is quite central, you might hear some music around the weekend. If you are sensitive to sound, either bring earplugs, or maybe choose a place further from the center. You might need transportation to go around then. From the apartment, you can basically walk anywhere in the historic center and visit the many cultural clubs and live music venues and restaurants around. For live music make sure to check out the mentioned AsuArte group, or website of the location you want to explore. Some places are just open occasionally. Announcements come generally on short notice, often the same day, or just 2-3 days prior.
