Just 10mins up the coast from Thames township. When the tide is in, enjoy swimming or a gentle kayak; or bring your own fishing rods and cast off the beach. Great position to explore the Thames/Coromandel West Coast or simply sit back and relax with a good book and enjoy the magnificent west coast sunsets. The space The cottage is perfectly positioned on the waters edge, with the west facing living room bi-fold doors opening onto a large front deck and lawn. Off the kitchen there is a covered deck with patio table that gets the morning sun with views back to the hills. A few steps from this covered deck takes you to the separate shower/laundry and toilet facilities. The main bedroom features a Queen bed. 2nd bedroom has a bunk (Queen base and king single upper). Quality linen and towels provided. The section is over 1000sqm so plenty of room for the kids to run around and play. A kayak and boogie board are available for use. Guest access Off street parking for 2 cars. Walking distance (5mins) to the well stocked local dairy and takeaways. 3 min drive to a great swimming waterhole at the end of Te Puru Creek Road. 5 min drive to Waiomu Beach Cafe. Other things to note The property is well appointed but still has some original features of its 95 year history. We are on local dam water supply, so must conserve water. We have recently installed new pipes and a filter system, so water should be ok drink. However, there may still be times when the dam is playing up so we suggest drinking filtered water. There will be a full 15L bottle with tap on the kitchen bench on your arrival as back up if needed. We are also on a new septic tank system, so it it crucial that only products supplied are used and considerations to be made here to ensure no overflow (eg not too much paper down the toilet). This is another reason why we limit the number of people to 4 adults max at any time. Also, it is important to consider driving distances if you intend to explore both the west and east coasts of the Coromandel. The roads are very narrow and winding and it is recommended you do your research on local The Coromandel website for any day trips. The cottage is just 10mins out of the Thames township and it would be a good hour to drive from there to the Coromandel township up the coast.
