The space This apartment is in a 1970s building in a historic neighborhood on a barrier island in Texas. It has charm, character, and quirks — all three, in equal measure. We price it to reflect the limitations of a building we cannot heavily modify given its historic context, and we stand behind the value we offer. That said, this apartment is not for everyone, and we mean that literally. Here is what you need to know before you book: For guest that book in the summer months: Galveston in the summer. It is hot. It is humid. El Niño years are brutal. Each apartment is 500 sq ft. Each apartment has it's own window AC unit for an 800 sq ft apartment, plus a dehumidifier and tower fans — they work, and they do their job. But if you are heat-sensitive, or if you have never experienced Gulf Coast summer weather, please research Galveston's climate before booking. Complaining about island heat and humidity in a coastal Texas apartment is not something we can solve for you. This is an island ecosystem. We have professional pest control service. We also have insects, because this is a subtropical barrier island and that is how ecosystems work. In unseasonably hot and humid weather, you will see bugs. If that is not something you can live with, Galveston in general — not just this apartment — is probably not the right destination for you. This is not a hotel, and we are not hotel staff. If you have ever called a host for a non-emergency reason — anything other than a safety issue, a water or plumbing emergency, a power outage, or a major appliance failure that significantly impacts your stay — this is not the right fit. If you have never lived independently or are accustomed to having things done for you, please book a full-service property instead. We offer safe, affordable, comfortable housing for people with realistic expectations. We have wonderful guests — many of them return. It is the rare guest who does not understand the difference between renting an affordable apartment in a historic building and checking into a managed hotel that we are trying to reach with this section. Sealy Suites is a small and quiet fourplex nestled in the Historical East End of Galveston Island. We are just blocks from UTMB, beach, downtown, and the Yacht Basin. This unit is a 1BR/1BA apt with lots of windows and lots of charm. It is completely furnished with queen bed; Workspace; WIFI; Smart TV; all linens and kitchen and bathroom amenities are included; large closets, smoking permitted outside on beautiful deck; shared laundry room also included. We are walking distance to UTMB, restaurants, churches and oldest library in Texas. Bike available for use during stay. Let the Gulf breeze envelop you while you relax with a morning cup of coffee on the patio.
