Beautiful place with incredible views!

Lean back and relax in this quiet, elegant place. Here you can enjoy the view of Dovrefjell and Rondane from the bed or from the living room. Spectacular hiking opportunities right outside the door. Snøhetta is a day's march away into the realm of the musk ox. Possibilities for a ride on horseback, cycling on Tour de Dovre or walking Pilgrimsleden. Fishing in Kvitdalsvatna or on Hjerkinndammen. 4 km to Hjerkinn station. By car it is 35 min to Oppdal, 25 min to Dombås and about 15 min to the nearest store (Dalholen). The space The cabin is built in 2021 in a modern style. This is a low-standard cabin - i.e. without running water (but a system where you fetch water in plastic cans from an open source which is then manually filled into a larger tank connected to a hot water tank). Electricity is installed. Heating from underfloor heating and fireplace. Guest access The cabin is located along Kvitdalsvegen 1030 masl just below the birch forest tree line. You can walk in all directions, but we recommend following the road further inwards towards Kvitdalen. Here you can choose a path up to Professorhøa (signposted) where you can enjoy the view with, among other things, the Snøhettamassivet in the west, Rondane in the southeast, Knutshø in the north. This trip takes a maximum of one hour to the cabin. Further inwards Kvitdalsvegen you can walk/cycle inwards to Kvitdalen and down to Folldal. This is part of the #tourdedovre bike trail. In Kvitdalen there are three lakes with the possibility of swimming/fishing or boating with boats that are available free of charge from Dovre Mountain Board. There is also a trail/ski slope up to Hjerkinnhøa, which is the name of the mountain massif behind the cabin. Take the trail to the left from Kvitdalsvegen right after the sign to Professorhøa. Alternatively, go further in and turn off at the highest point of the road. It is best to follow trails. From most of the peaks on Hjerkinnhøa the view is spectacular. In the middle of the area is the old royal road, which is part of the Pilgrim's Way. If you go south, you can go down to Eysteinkirka, or to Hjerkinn Fjellstue and Fjellridning. If you go north, the road leads to Kongsvoll. If you go west, you will come down to the E6 and further into the realm of the musk ox. Here the possibilities are many, among other things to #viewpointsnøhetta or Snøheim which is the starting point for the top trip to Snøhetta. Shuttle buses go to Snøheim in summer. The cabin is also a nice starting point for trips in Rondane. Walk to Hageseter (about 4 km) and from there there is a marked trail to Grimsdalshytta (day hike). Other things to note The place. There are basic items such as sugar, salt, some spices, oil etc. in the cabin, but otherwise you have to get food yourself and bring it with you when you leave. The nearest shop is at Dalholen about 15 km away. Other things to note When you arrive, the apartment should be clean and tidy. Tenants leave the cabin in the same condition as they found it. I.e. tidy up and clean yourself. Please bring your own bed linen and towels. If you have forgotten to bring them, I can usually fix it. In that case, I charge NOK 200 per bed set. If for some reason you don't manage to clean the cabin, I will charge NOK 1,000 for cleaning.
