Park View offers 9 individual en-suite rooms with shared access and a separate 3-bed apartment on the ground floor with private access. This room is a superior double with en-suite on the 1st floor. The whole property (apartment and 9 rooms) can be booked in its entirety or in part, offering a great opportunity for friends and family to holiday together. Park View is directly opposite Peasholm Park with several cafes and bars on the doorstep. The beach and Open Air Theatre are a 5-minute walk. The space Park View is a Dutch Colonial style building built in 1936. We operate as a guesthouse offering 9 clean and cosy ensuite bedrooms. All guest rooms are located on the first and second floors accessed by straight staircases. The dining room is also on the first floor. Park View is a really warm, homely place to stay. Guest often tell us it feels like home from home - cosy, relaxing and safe. We hope to welcome you here soon! Guest access At Park View we aim to offer high levels of hospitality to all our guests, regardless of any permanent or temporary disability, medical condition, or other specific requirements. This Access Statement does not contain any personal opinions as to the guesthouse suitability. Rather, it is designed to give you the information you need to assess how effectively we can meet your needs. PRIOR TO ARRIVAL The guesthouse is located approximately 0.8 miles from Scarborough railway station and town centre bus stops. Approximate drive time is 4 minutes or 20 minutes walk time. The walk from the town centre is largely flat and down-hill along pavements and over road crossings. There are a number of taxi companies in Scarborough with accessible taxis on request. One of these companies is located at the railway station. ARRIVAL The guesthouse has six steps leading up to the front door. The steps and path are resin finished. There is a low handrail on the left halfway up the steps; it does not serve the bottom three steps. Access into the hotel is by one step into the outer porch and another step into the hallway. Car parking spaces are available directly in front of the guesthouse entrance but these are Council owned so cannot be guaranteed or reserved. Assistance with luggage is available on request, and this can be collected from/ delivered to your car if required. The entrance hall floor is carpeted and on one floor. PUBLIC AREAS The dining room is on the first floor accessed by a straight staircase. All staircases and landings are carpeted. The guesthouse was built in 1936 so doorways and landings are quite narrow and not wheelchair accessible. There is no lift. The guesthouse does not have a hearing loop installed. BEDROOMS All guest bedrooms are en-suite and located on the first and second floors accessed by straight staircases. Bedrooms are carpeted and bathrooms are lino floors. Rooms do not have fridges but we are able to store medication needing refrigeration on prior request. Bathrooms have either a bath with over-bath shower or a shower cubicle. Nonslip bathmats are provided in all rooms. GENERAL All information such as menus or guestroom information sheets can be printed in larger fonts on request. Service dogs are accepted at the hotel by prior arrangement. Other things to note Council owned on-street parking is available in front of the guesthouse. We can provide parking permits for £3 for 2 days and £6 for 4 days.
