Hundred-year-old Arts and Crafts style home in the most ethnically diverse neighborhood in the entire United States offers a comfortable stay for business, tourist or hospital visitor — all with a little touch of Africa. The space Visitors will enjoy a private room (a little better than a tented camp in Maasai Mara) with a twin (single) bed and a shared bathroom. There are several common spaces to sit and relax, including two sitting areas on the main floor, dining room, and another sitting area that doubles as overflow guest room on the second floor. In summer this room has a window air conditioning unit. Please only use it when in the room. It cools down fast. In winter we have radiator heat with the bedroom level always staying plenty warm. The house is decorated with many African works of art that traveled back with me after I lived in East Africa. I also have a few collected antiques that work well with the handsome woodwork in the house. So it’s a quiet, peaceful place in a busy urban neighborhood. Guest access Visitors have access to all common sitting areas, including the living room and dining room, plus bathroom, yard — and laundry, (please ask before using) if needed. We have wifi, and free street parking in front of the house. You are also welcome to sit in the back yard on beautiful summer days. (Please bring your own khaki shorts and pith helmet.) During your stay I love to share my city with others, I love hosting people and playing tour guide, but if you need downtime I can be scarce. In other words, just let me know what you need and you’ve got it. Other things to note If you are in town to visit family or friends at the hospital, Abbott's Security office offers an after-dark escort back here at the end of your day. It's a 5 minute walk from my front door to the nearest hospital door. Registration details Exempt
