2 adjacent spacious bedrooms w. skylights. Large private bath. Guest bedrooms, bathroom, light cooking area upstairs. Host's main living area downstairs. Options to use shared space. Beautiful nature setting, quiet, secluded. Large work desks, office chairs. 24" streaming HD TV. Next to 80-mile bike/walk path. 5 min to many good restaurants, stores. 10 min. to Bradley Airport, MA towns, Interstate 91. Hartford/Springfield 20 min. Potential guests must first message yes to basic house rules. The upstairs 2-bedroom area with private bathroom has no other living space next to it. Both rooms are included in the single reservation, however to keep the accommodation affordable, a single person or couple who normally share a bedroom would select the one they prefer. Others in the party who normally do not share a room such as a child or adult relative are welcome to use the second bedroom. No other guests would occupy the other adjacent bedroom at the same time as your reservation. Each bedroom has a queen bed, 1-2 easy chairs, ample drawer and closet space, a large desk with adjustable office chair and a skylight as well as good adjustable lighting. The rooms are carpeted with plenty of closet, drawer, and other storage space. The guest area has a fridge, coffee/tea setup, microwave, hotplate, and full selection of eating/cooking items. The host's kitchen is not available for guest use. There is safe off-street parking for up to three medium size vehicles. Guests enter via a dedicated outside door which opens directly up the stairs to their suite. There are four closets plus ample drawer space. A shed is available for bike storage. Options for shared conversation/seating areas are available. Guests can also sit outdoors by using a back yard patio overlooking a frog pond. I welcome new guests in person and am usually on the property at checkout. The private entrance enable guests to come and go during their visit without host interaction if desired. On the other hand, I am glad to chat and appreciate getting to know you and your preferences/needs. I am available via text 24/7, and am in the home for parts of each day and every night. I take a concierge approach to hosting, and enjoy helping guests feel welcome, comfortable, and well served. Items in my home are available for loan to support your visit so please don't hesitate to ask for assistance and advice with anything that can make your stay more enjoyable and convenient. Please communicate house guidelines to others whom we have agreed will be staying here. My neighborhood is within Farmington Valley, nationally recognized for its many nature trails, cycling and hiking opportunities, historic sites, excellent restaurants, and culture. My street has large wooded lots with wildlife and birds. While secluded, my house is five miles to Bradley Airport and Interstate 91. It's a short drive to the many businesses in my town and neighboring industrial towns of Windsor Locks and Windsor. Other adjacent towns are Simsbury, Suffield, Granby and Southwick MA. You can walk or ride a bike to the Farmington Valley Greenway, part of the national Rails to Trails system. Many large wildlife preserves and large state forests are nearby. A public golf course is also just down the road. Within a 5-10 minute drive are stores such as Starbucks, CVS pharmacy, Target, Stop & Shop supermarkets, laundrymat, and health food stores/deli's. A large variety of excellent restaurants are within 5-15 minutes drive. My home is adjacent to the Old Newgate Prison, on the national and state register of historic sites. Check the CT state website for current hours. Being a rural/suburban area, you need a car. Amtrak a good way to get to New York City--the station is 10 minutes from my house. Express buses to NYC and Boston leave from Hartford. The commuter rail Metro North, to NYC and southern CT cities, departs every half-hour from New Haven, CT. Boston is a 90-120 minute drive depending on traffic (all highways). Bradley International Airport is a 10-minute drive away. Pets: I keep a well groomed short-hair cat that stays in another part of the house; she is never allowed in the guest area.
