Lively cabin surrounded by nature
Description
Wake up to the fluttering of hummingbirds, the mist over the Cucunubá Valley, and the quiet warmth of a wood-burning fireplace. Just two hours from Bogotá, El Encanto del Colibrí is the retreat you need when you want to recharge your batteries. The space El Encanto del Colibrí is an open, bright space (with floating walls) designed for true relaxation. Upon entering, you'll find the main living room with a wood-burning fireplace—the heart of the cabin—integrated with a fully equipped kitchenette. There is everything you need to cook, but there is also a charming town just a few minutes away if you prefer to go out. The cabin has two rooms: the main room with an extra-double bed, a chair, and large windows overlooking the landscape; the second room, with a semi-double sofa bed, is ideal for a third or fourth guest or for use as a work space. Both have TVs and views. The bathroom features a large shower with tempered glass. There is a laundry area with a washing machine. Outside, the terrace features a camping table with a direct view of the valley—perfect for morning coffee or an afternoon drink. Likewise, in the rear courtyard, you will find a staircase that will take you to the exterior of the main house, where you can access two viewpoints to enjoy your coffee appreciating the Valle de Cucunubá and its surrounding mountains. Finally, the name of the cabin is no coincidence. The area is home to several species of hummingbirds that visit the feeders at the main house throughout the day. If you want to see them up close, come early in the morning—sunrise is the best time. It's an experience that guests remember long after they leave. Guest access You will have access to the cabin and its surroundings, as well as the area around the main house. Other things to note Cucunubá is a colonial town located at an elevation of 2,590 meters (8,468 feet), in the heart of the Cundinamarca-Boyacá highlands. Quiet, authentic, without the crowds of other destinations. From the cabin, among other activities, you can: 🚴 Bike tour on rural roads with almost no traffic 🦆 Visit the Suesca Lagoon ☕ Walk to the main park and enjoy a cup of coffee at a local shop 🌄 Climb to the two lookout points of the main house to see the entire valley at sunrise How to get here from Bogotá? By car: ~2 hours via the Bogotá–Zipaquirá–Ubaté–Cucunubá route By bus: From the North Transport Terminal, take the route to Ubaté, then a taxi or bus to the cabin (~20 min).
