Artful Loft in Ann Arbor's Brooklyn

Spacious contemporary loft for up to 4 adults and 2 children in the heart of undiscovered Ypsilanti. Walking distance to Eastern Michigan University, minutes by car or bus from Ann Arbor, UM, and Stadium. The space This loft is our home, and we would love to share it with you. We mix contemporary and antique art and furniture, provide high-end appliances--range, dishwasher, refrigerator, washer, dryer--and invite you to browse our dozens of books on art and many other topics. The space has 17-12' high ceilings, exposed brick, and intriguing remnants of past decor. This is a true loft--one big room, 22 x 80, with one of the enclosed baths dividing the master bedroom with queen-sized bed from the rest of the space. The living room doubles as the second bedroom, with a Design Within Reach "Twilight" sleeper sofa that easily converts into one or two XL twin beds. Aerobeds are provided on request for up to two children. Also in the living room, a 40" flat-screen TV with DirectvStream, a DVD player and a small collection of titles, and access to Netflix and Amazon Prime. The high-end kitchen is equipped for the serious cook and up to eight diners. Coffee (Keurig), creamer, and sugar are provided. Downstairs is our art-music-space, 22 North. It's a family enterprise, housing our audio services business in the back and an art gallery in the front. The gallery shows emerging and established artists in our region--it was voted the 2nd best art gallery in the county in 2022, after the University of Michigan Museum of Art. Guest access There is a private entry on the street with a keyless entry pad, so you can check in and check out without assistance (unless you need it--we'd be glad to help!). The whole apartment will be yours during your stay. The rest of the building is off-limits, but we would love to give you a complete tour if we are on site. Parking is easy though we don't have a dedicated space. Parking meters in front of the building operate M-F, 8-6. Parking is free after 6pm. Overnight parking is permitted. A city parking lot across Huron Street offers free parking, limited to 2 hours M-F, 8-6 but unlimited afterwards. Overnight parking is permitted. DO NOT PARK BEHIND THE BUILDING. The entire area is monitored carefully and unauthorized cars can be towed with no warning and alarming speed. However, just a minute's walk from these private lots, toward the river, there is unrestricted parking in Riverside Park. This is where we leave our cars when we won't be driving for several hours. This area is accessible from the alley behind the building, off of Michigan Ave. There are other paid and free lots nearby, and there are copies of a parking map in the guest manual in the loft. Other things to note A dog lives on premises. We clean thoroughly, but in case you are extra-sensitive, we wanted you to know. The loft is up a single long single flight of stairs. There is no elevator or lift. The stairwell is enclosed by a short half-wall in the living area, which is why we don't accept young children. If you are bringing a dog, please take their ability to manage stairs into account.
