Description

Cottage No.8 with its quirky garden, is nestled in the quaint village of Egerton, in the centre of the area known as The West Pennine Moors. The delightful stone cottage dates back 150 years and includes everything you need for a wonderful break, in a beautiful countryside location. Within walking distance of great pubs and bistros it is an ideal base for exploring the whole of Lancashire and having the added benefit of being only 12 miles from City Centre Manchester and Salford Quays The space Situated on a quiet cobbled street the cottage is presently set up to accommodate four people and up to two well-behaved dogs There is a King size bed in the large front bedroom and a smaller double in the room to the rear of the property. There is the option of using the large double bed settee in the lounge if guests would prefer separate sleeping areas. The modern bathroom is fully tiled and includes a lovely deep bath (with overhead shower) perfect for a long soak after a day out walking/cycling. Downstairs there is a fully equipped modern fitted kitchen with granite worktops and a large dining room with a sideboard where you will find games books and an OS map of the area. The open plan lounge features a large stone fireplace with a cast iron electric log burner and a 43" smart TV - perfect for cosy nights in. High-speed fibre optic wifi is provided (avg. 70mbps). To the rear of the cottage is a stone flagged courtyard with an outside tap ideal for muddy boots and muddy dogs with a gate leading to the entry. From the front door, across the cobbles is a shed, a small grassed area and a winding stone path leading to steps to the mosaic patio and firepit. The small summer house (with lights and electricity supply) then opens out onto a secret outdoor terrace overlooking a shallow stream. Guest access The village houses a number of independent bistros, BAKERS award-winning tea room, three fantastic pubs and a delicious Chinese takeaway . There is also a small shop/which makes fantastic sandwiches a local newsagents a hairdressers and a Yoga studio all within walking distance from the cottage. Free parking for one car is available on the driveway at the front of the cottage. Additional free parking can be found on the main road. There is a bus stop less than 500ft away which can take you to Blackburn and Bolton and runs a £1 anywhere night-time service. There is also a train station in nearby Bromley Cross with links to city centre Manchester the Metro and therefore a huge area to explore including Salford Quays and The Trafford Centre.
