Description

A newly renovated & beautifully decorated flat, centrally-located with a three minute walk up to The Hoe and to the main shopping centre. Surrounded by endless restaurants, fun & only 400metres to the sea! It includes a high spec kitchen with appliances and coffee machine as part of the open plan living/kitchen room. Bathroom is tastefully designed with a large 900 x 900 shower. Bedrooms come with zip&link beds, set up as king and a superking with a guest bed. Patio area from main bedroom The space Hello and thank you for taking the time to look at our basement flat located within our beautiful Victorian Townhouse in such a perfect location for a visit to Plymouth. Our street: We are located on a small quiet street by the Crown Plaza Hotel and are offering a two kingsize bed self contained flat for you to enjoy and relax. The street is a small straight cul de sac with 12 houses on it, 6 either side; opposite a beautiful tree and victorian street light, it really can be a picturesque street although we have to admit that the only downfall is the unfortunate necessity of having the rubbish bins on the street but we are trying to work with the council to see if these can be moved. It is tidy but we just wanted to make you aware of this slight annoyance! Once you are inside though or out for the day, that won't be an issue. Parking: In terms of parking, the street has space for 5 cars but these are reserved for residents only and we are fortunate enough to have a hardstanding outside our house but unfortunately we cannot offer this to you unless there is are extenuating circumstances! We may be able to provide parking permits for parking on nearby roads in pay and display zones if available and asked for in advance but failing that paid parking is on the top Steeet of Citadel Road or in the Theatre Royal Multi storey car park for £13 a day or £55 for the week. The Flat: It has a lovely space for relaxing with an open plan kitchen / dining / Living Area to the front of the property. Bedroom One: A spacious room set up as a SuperKing (two single zip and link beds) which can be separated on request prior to your arrival. There is also a guest bed within the divan base for the fifth person should this be required but it is smaller than a single and so more suited to a child/small person. Whilst we can accommodate five adults, it would naturally be a little more snug!. This room leads off to an external small patio area and has the original built in cupboards with hangers for use. Bedroom Two: Set up as a kingsize but can be separated into to 2ft 6 single bed on request. Plenty of space to store luggage in what would have been the old coal store that we have included within the renovation. The beds make this place a perfect stay for families or couples sharing and we hope you'll enjoy your sleep ( we have hotel grade beds to really give you that hotel experience in the comfort of a homely space)! They are new for 2022 and will replace mattresses as and when we advised by guests that they are no longer comfy as we have had nothing but good reviews to date! Living Space: The main living space is a large room with the kitchen on the left, the bar table and stools in the centre and soda area on the right. We thought hard about the space and wanted it to be a sociable yet practical space and think we have delivered! There are chairs with backs in the bedrooms that can be moved to the living area if a stool isn't your preference. We also have a high chair in the property and can provide anything you might need if you are staying with babies or young kids (we have two ourselves and so appreciate the struggles of travelling... please do ask if there is anything we can provide to make your journey less of a struggle!) The surrounding area: We are located in arguably one of the best places in Plymouth for sight seeing, visiting attractions and all that Plymouth has to offer. If you walk to the end of the street and turn left you will be at the sea front on The Hoe after passing the iconic Smeatons Tower and the promenade within 400 metres. Plenty of nice walks boat trips, parks, places to eat, the National Marine Aquarium, historical landmarks all around! If you turn right at the end of our street, you will reach the town centre for all of your shopping needs, the central hub for all bus routes across the city and beyond (in peak times there are bus services that run to local beaches in Cornwall and Devon) and a little further on (on foot) you can reach the University and The Box History Museum. There is also an IMaxx cinema, indoor crazy golf, an axe throwing venue and arcade all in the city centre along with escape rooms and more! You will be spoilt for choice in terms of places to eat, take a look at our guide for some of our favourites! A little Note Currently, we live in the main house and so will always be around to help with any queries or suggestions but equally will respect your privacy and time away on holiday - pvoided that you respect our house rules and no parties in the flat or noisy evenings that will disrupt the neighbours please! Having said that - we are aware that it is a basement flat and whilst we have gone above and beyond to try and sound proof, noise still does travel through the walls and floors (not nearly as much as a newbuild, perhaps, but it does). We don't want you to feel on edge and so we won't ever comment on the noise unless it is really bad (to date we have only had to do this once with a clear breach in party rules). We always try to be respectful of the differing time schedules we are likely on but please do be aware that we do have two young children (5 and 3 as at 07.23) and so it is difficult to keep them still which may result in early morning patter of little feet and during the week we are on the morning school /nursery routine where we are out of the house before 8am. We are out of the house most of the days and their bedtimes are very reasonable. If a later morning nap is the kind of holiday you want but you are easily woken , then we would suggest - just to be sure - out place isn't for you! The kids aren't really 'bad' at all and anyone who has or has had children in the past wont be phased but I would rather be honest as would hate to ruin any holiday or receive an adverse review for something largely out of our control (they are young kids, after all) As they get older, the morning excitement or chaos will lessen, and that will be a sad day for us, at least! Guest access Access is at the front of the Property where there are approximately seven steps leading down to the front door as this is a 'basement flat'. The outside has been newly concreted but is due to be tiled and renovated when the better weather comes in 2024 along with our hardstanding which is used by us but not yet for guests due to risk of injury Other things to note Given that we live in a tourist area of Plymouth, many of the roads are residential permits only or pay and display. We may be able to provide daily visitor parking permits but this cannot be guaranteed and parking would need to be paid for on street or in the multi storey car park about a 5 minute walk away. You cannot park on the street as this is residents only but in pay and display bays on the main road (Citadel Road) and surrounding areas which is a minute or two walk from the house. You can drive down to the house steps and unload before drivng off to find a parking space. We can assist with this further once you have made your booking but for information - the Theatre Royal Carpark is £13 for 24 hours or £55 for the week.
