Contemporary hideaway house in the tree tops.
Description
Contemporary, architecturally considered house in a tree filled valley. Just off the West Cornwall moors (Lanyon Quoit & Men an Tol) on the edge of the peaceful village of Madron. House and large garden completely private yet a stones throw from the sea and the shops and restaurants of Penzance. Also short distances to the up and coming food scene of Newlyn and timeless Mousehole. Well placed for all beaches of West Cornwall, North coast 10 minute drive, St Ives 20, Lands End 20. The space The house is accessed via a large decking area through the garden next to a large palm tree with a lovely seating area towards the far end of the land. The living, dining and sleeping area is located upstairs on a split level which is extremely private with high ceilings and can be accessed by a flight of stairs off to the right of the front door. The living space feels as though it is nestled amongst the tree canopies and makes for a wonderful viewing platform for local wildlife, bird watching and is also a wonderful spot for gazing at the full moon. It is an open planned considered space with large windows as the focal point overlooking the valley. There is a velvet comfortable sofa which can be converted into a sofa bed for any additional guest. Spare bedding is always placed in the dresser and should we be notified there is a very comfortable bamboo mattress topper which can be supplied to make it additionally comfortable should you request it. The bright bedroom hovers over the living space on a mezzanine floor which has space saving stairs which lead up to it. It is both very private and cosy with a long thin panoramic window up over head. The kitchen is positioned underneath the mezzanine with a window at the kitchen sink which looks down upon the garden. There is ample worktops with lots of cupboard space and good sized fridge and is a lovely kitchen to cook and spend time in. There is a dining table with four seats and also dining space outside on the decking in the garden. The space is both bright and spacious. It’s a contemporary space with a shower room downstairs which is tiled from floor to ceiling. There is a small snug room next to this downstairs with places to put your walking boots and coats. The space is so bright with lots of windows that you feel as though you are sitting outdoors amongst the trees, yet it is warm and cosy. It is also very quiet. The garden is extremely tranquil with a slight faint view of mounts bay through the trees. We do hope you enjoy your stay in our home as it’s a very peaceful private place with no other buildings overlooking it at all. It is also a great location within close proximity and walking distance of Penzance town, the moors, and quick easy access to both coasts being within less than 5 minutes drive away. We are also lucky to have good public transport connections, with a bus stop next to the entrance and parking space within our 1/4 of an acre of land for 2/3 cars. (See location) Guest access Access to our property is via the garden path and the decking next to a large palm tree. More information on this shall be provided once booking is made. It is completely private land. There is ample parking, with space for at least 2 cars. The outdoor space is very big and the entrance is very private and not overlooked. Other things to note Although the property is listed as suitable for 2 persons maximum, the space does have two beds. A larger double bed upstairs on the open mezzanine and another small double/large single sofa bed on the living space, so the space could and has with our own growing family accommodated 3/4 people comfortably, however due to the proximity of the spaces and it being largely open plan with little privacy between the two beds we would advise this suitable for very close friends or family only. We stay here with our small baby and a 6 year old, us both being two adults, but we share a bed with both children and find it works well for our family. However we wouldn’t advise the property as being suitable for toddlers at present due to there not being any stair gates before both sets of stairs or safety locks on the windows. This is something we may look to accommodate in the near future. There is a travel cot downstairs and we can provide a basinet with extra linen for any smaller babies should you need one. Please note additional linen and a very comfortable bamboo mattress topper for the sofa bed is available, however upon request. We shall need to be notified that you wish to use this ahead of your arrival to ensure we make arrangements to have the linen and topper ready for you. There is an additional charge for additional guests to the property after 2+, nothing is a problem provided we are notified and kept in the loop, we shall also provide extra bedding and towels, but the charge reflects the additional use of water, electricity and additional cleaning fees needed. Should you have any further questions about our property, please don’t hesitate to get in touch. We are always keen to accommodate you and make your stay a really memorable one.
