This AWARD WINNING HOUSE has been featured by AD MAGAZINE as one of the 10 top brutalist houses of 2024 , Just a six-minute walk from the beach in the hip La Punta neighborhood of Puerto Escondido sits CASA WO, a modern oasis and architectural marvel in the Mexican state of Oaxaca. CASA WO is much more than a luxury beach house, featuring a unique garden-roof and a sapphire blue private pool that blends seamlessly with the home’s contemporary and open-air layout. The space Designed by the renowned French architect Ludwig Godefroy, CASA WO is a one-of-a-kind beach house. From outside, the building appears as an entirely solid concrete mass, punctuated on one side by a pair of openings containing sturdy wooden doors. One set of doors opens outwards to provide access to the garden-garage, while the other pivots on its central axis to form the main entrance. Godefroy arranged the house to provide the residents with privacy, he inverted the traditional arrangement of a property, moving the backyard pool-garden to the front to act as a buffer to the street and the kitchen, living room and bedrooms towards the back. The garden leads to a bridge across the pool courtyard flanked on either side by steps that ascend onto the building's roof, a perfect spot to socialize and enjoy a drink while you enjoy the amazing La Punta's Sunset ! Beyond the pool there's a covered patio that spans the width of the house and accommodates the main living area. A kitchen is situated at one end. The open-air space to the rear of the building accommodates a large, low table made from a section of a tree trunk "Parota" providing the focal point of the communal space. Roller shades can be used to close off the living area, or retracted to open it up to the pool. There are two bedrooms and two full bathrooms, the master bedroom is located upstairs and the guest bedroom on the main floor, next to the open-air living spaces. Both of them with A/C and Ceiling fans . An american style coffee machine is provided together with coffee for your convenience. You can also find filtered water at your disposal as well as premium "For All Folks" bath amenities. The board-marked concrete used for the building's structure is left exposed both externally and internally throughout the house. Carefully placed openings in the walls and roofs of the various rooms enable daylight to wash across these textured surfaces. The only other material present is the wood used for the doors and louvred screens. HIGH SPEED STARLING INTERNET IS AVAILABLE FOR GUESTS THROUGHOUT THE PROPERTY. Guest access The house is located a 20 min taxi ride from the puerto escondido airport . We are located within a 5 min walk to the mainstreet of La Punta , where you can find plenty of restaurants , local stores as well as beach clubs and surf spots amongst others ! there is no need for a car or any other means of transportation. Should you decide to rent a car or motorbike you can safely park it for free just in front of the house main gate. Other things to note La Punta is a bohemian village in Puerto Escondido, where surfers, beach-goers, and exotic vacationers can enjoy the community feel and beauty of this hidden gem without competing for space with rowdy spring breakers or sterile, corporate resorts.
