Blueberry Hill House is a charming 4,000 sq ft home on 5 1/2 private wooded acres. Conveniently located only 3 miles to I-5, 15 to Olympia, 79 to Seattle, & 100 to Portland. The house is midway between Mt Rainier and Olympic National Parks, and very close to Capitol Forest and other recreational lands. A covered porch with rocking chairs and a two person hammock, along with two decks, a hot tub, and an outdoor eating area, provide relaxing spaces to enjoy nature at your home away from home. The space The entire downstairs is available to rent (other than a shared laundry room). I live in the upstairs apartment and use the laundry room and back yard for access from the garage. There is a king sized bed in one bedroom, a queen in the second bedroom and another queen bed setup in the big living room. For guests that need additional sleeping arrangements, there are three couches and also three queen sized air mattresses that can be inflated and set up in several rooms. The fee for additional overnight guests is $35 per person per night. The house has a wood burning stove and there are additional space heaters in each bedroom to supplement the heat pump in winter. Summer is usually temperate but when the occasional heat wave does hit we have air-conditioning, which, with the optional use of box and ceiling fans, keeps the house very comfortable. It’s exceptionally quiet here but if you think the white noise from the fans, the hot tub cycling on, or the pitter patter of puppy and kitten feet from the apartment above, may disturb your sleep you may want to bring along some ear plugs. Lastly, we try hard to accommodate fragrance sensitivities and use fragrance-free laundry products, but have to use disinfectants, primarily Lysol, to clean counters, floors, and all other surfaces due to COVID cleaning protocols. Guest access Guests can come and go at will with a lock box on the main door. Although the dogs and I live upstairs, the entire downstairs is shared space available for guest use, including office, family room, eat-in kitchen (with half the fridge space available for your use, and as a reminder breakfast is not provided just coffee and tea), dining room, formal living room, laundry room, and a full bathroom. Both bedrooms downstairs are available to rent on AirBnB. We do our best to ensure you have privacy but are available to visit or hang out if you want some company (of the human and/or animal variety). Other things to note Since I usually leave early in the morning and travel for business quite often, other than oatmeal, breakfast is not provided, just coffee and tea along with a variety of sweetners, almond milk and 1/2 and 1/2. One side of the fridge is available for your use, kitchen is stocked with the usual pots and pans, and there is a trash compactor (big black box type thing but dog proof) for garbage, plus recycling in the pantry, no composting (other than the dogs) at this time.
