Sunshine is an original Craftsman cottage 2 blocks from Carmel Beach,2 blocks from Ocean Ave., and a block from the gates to the 17 Mile Dr. Have a peek at the Pacific from the deck or cozy up by the fireplace with a nice bottle of local wine. Sunshine Cottage is an Historic Craftsman from early Carmel and part of a 5 lot wooded compound. It is a a momentary walk to the beach and Ocean Avenue and walkable to most anywhere in Carmel. The property has been in my family for over 100 years. There is a charming living room and fireplace, bedroom, bathroom and kitchen. The living room couch is a sleeper sofa. In addition there is a bedroom downstairs with a queen bed, sink and toilet and has a separate entrance. A full laundry room is also available. We hope you love Sunshine as we do. I am in touch with guests before their stay to welcome people and share any useful information such as codes, access, directions, food and fun. I generally touch base during the stay to make sure everything is to the guests liking and make myself available should anything arise. Sunshine Cottage is located on Camino Real 1.5 blocks north of famed Ocean Avenue, adjacent to the Jane Powers walkway, which is a pretty path leading to the beach. The neighborhood is largely full time residents who can be sensitive to "tourist traffic" on the street. We try to be respectful of that and and sensitive to their concerns. I don't think Sunshine could handle it anyway! The cottage is an original craftsman from the early arts era of Carmel, recently renovated to maintain it's charm and simplicity. We invite you to relax, enjoy and breathe in the beautiful ocean air! It's intoxicating to say the least. We walk or bike everywhere in Carmel and only get in the car to go elsewhere. The cottage is so close to everything that it can be quicker to walk than find a parking spot. Biking is a great way to explore and we have had great adventures biking to Point Lobos, The Monterey Bay Aquarium, through the 17 Mile Dr. and golf courses. By car, the whole coast and Monterey Bay are moments away. Arrival time is 3:00pm or after and Departure time is noon. This provides time to make sure the cottage is nice and clean for you!
