Description
The Highland Club is a collection of 4 and 5 star serviced self catered apartments set within 20 acres of beautifully landscaped grounds on the south shore of Loch Ness, cradled by the Caledonian Canal and the River Tarff. It occupies Grade A gothic buildings, the original 1729 English fortification, Fort Augustus, which became St Benedict’s Abbey. Located centrally in The Highlands, Fort Augustus Abbey promises comfort whilst exploring Urquhart Castle, Culloden, Clava Cairns, Skye or Ben Nevis. The space The Rushworth is located on the third floor (No Lift) and it is a fantastic one bedroom apartment with the benefit of a double height volume in the large open plan kitchen/living area. Given its elevated position it has great views over the estate. The dining area sits below the huge curved span of the original Abbey Church ceiling and also contains some of the large and impressive exposed sandstone columns which support the vaulted roof of the former church. The master bedroom has fitted cupboards and a view over the Great Glen. The bathroom has a bath, wc, basin and shower cubicle. There is a sofa bed in the spacious reception if guests wish to use it. All guests receive a Highland Club welcome pack which includes a fruit bowl, wine and Highland Club clotted cream fudge. Registration details HI-50132-F
