Description

Enjoy a comfortable and convenient stay in this queen room on the private 2nd floor of the home. You’ll have access to a shared kitchenette and large bathroom, and if you prefer total privacy, you can rent the entire floor, which accommodates up to 6 guests. The room includes: *55" Roku TV with streaming options *A/C for warm days *Electric fireplace for cozy nights *Four large windows for natural light *Comfy queen bed with soft, hotel-quality linens, quilts, and blankets *Guest favorite The space You will be staying in the "Green Room" at my 125 year old family home near Radford in the Childress area of Montgomery County. The upper floor was completely renovated in 2017 to be an Airbnb, willingly. The lower floor was completely renovated in 2021, unwillingly - (a fire in my kitchen.) Recovering from the fire was not easy, but it has been a blessing in disguise. You will be conveniently located 4 miles from Interstate 81 exit 109, which makes the property easily accessible to Virginia Tech, Radford University, The Aquatic Center, The New River Valley, the beautiful views of the Blue Ridge Parkway, and the eclectic charm of the town of Floyd. I am also only 4 miles from the Carilion New River Valley Medical Center. From the beautiful charm of the refinished century old yellow pine floors, to the spacious tile bathroom featuring a soaking tub, and the many amenities found in the large kitchenette - you will feel cozy, comfortable, and right at home. Enjoy the owner's gardening obsession starting in January when Hellebores pop up amid the snow. Then spring comes alive with tulips, hyacinths, crocus, and more flowers that transition into the summer loveliness of Iris, phlox, and her personal favorites, lilies. Fall comes and things start to wind down including the owner - but sunflowers, roses, dahlias, and fall anemones still abound. Guest access Guests have self check-in. Although I live on the property downstairs behind closed doors, I apologize in advance if we don't meet. In my eight years hosting, there are hundreds of guests I unfortunately didn't get to welcome because our schedules didn't align. If you happen to stay during warmer weather, enjoy walking around the grounds to see the flowers, or perhaps take your dog for a walk up to the highest point on the farm, our family cemetery. There you will have a beautiful view of the valley and the pond. If you enjoy history, the headstones go back to the Revolutionary War. During your stay I intend to make my grandmother proud by offering genuine Southern Hospitality to all of my guests. If you want to know about the house, area, restaurants, etc., I will gladly impart anything I know. Alternatively, if you just want peace and quiet, come in, go to your room(s), and I'll disappear. Just let me know your preference via the Airbnb app. Other things to note No smoking or vaping anywhere on my property. No, nada, nein. No candles, incense, or any type of open flame. All pets must be cleared with me BEFORE booking. I've never turned a pet down, I just like to know who is bringing what, and when! Thanks
