Noula's & Giorgos' Cottage in Desfina village

Our cottage is a two-storey house, surrounded by a large garden. The first floor of the house accommodates the kitchen, the living room with the fireplace, dining area and a bedroom with a double bed. In the living room, there are sofas which can also be used as extra beds and the bathroom. In the lower floor of the house a main room with a pool table and a second bedroom are located. In total, 2 double beds and 2 single beds sleeping a maximum of 6 people; 2 more people can sleep on the sofas The space Welcome to our traditional cottage in the beautiful village of Desfina in the heart of the historic district of Delfi! The cottage was originally built in 1867 by our great-great-grandfather and it was renovated in 1997 using original materials from the house. It is a two-storey house surrounded by a large garden on different levels, with a lot of flowers and fruit trees. The area on the right of the main entrance of the yard used to be the stables of the house, as our grandfather was a horse breeder. The yard has a bbq, a traditional stone oven along with plenty of wood that you can use there (and in the main fireplace of the house). There is an outside WC (in addition to the main internal bathroom). In the lower part of the yard there is ample space for kids (and not only) to play and an old well, which is securely closed and totally safe. Back in the day, it was used t supply the house with water. A large stone built staircase leads up from the garden to the house. Just underneath it, there is a wine press, which until recently was used for treading the grapes and the production of the family’s wine. It can still be used! Going up to the house, you reach a large balcony which can accommodate a large number of people, with a dining table, chairs and a swing bench. Going into the house, you enter a large open space, which accommodates the kitchen, the living room with the fireplace and two dining areas. The kitchen is very well equipped (oven and hob, dishwasher, coffee appliances) and the space can host a large number of people. In this upper floor, there is also a bedroom with a double bed, while in the living room there are sofas which can also be used as extra beds if needed. On this floor is also the main bathroom of the house, which also contains the washing machine. There is a wooden staircase which leads to the lower floor of the house. The main room of the lower floor has a large pool table. This room can be used as a playroom but it also has a single bed. On this floor there is an additional bedroom with a double and single bed. There are also stairs, which lead to the wine cellar. Every bed of the house has new mattresses and all the linen is bright and new. In total there are 2 double beds and 2 single beds sleeping a maximum of 6 people. A further 2 people can sleep on the sofas. Desfina is a small picturesque mountain village with a beautiful central square, where the people of the village gather to drink coffee and gossip. There you can find taverns to eat and cafes, a supermarket, an ATM, all only 200m from the house. The village is perfect for long walks in the mountains. Desfina serves as a very central point for excursions to the mountain resort of Arachova (32km) and the ski center of Parnassos (57km). A visit to the famous (and beautiful!) monastery of Osios Loukas at Distomo is a must (17km), while down on the coast are the seaside town of Itea (16km), and the historical shipping port of Galaxidi (33 km) with its beautiful neoclassical houses. The world-famous archaeological site of Delphi, one of the main tourist attractions of Greece, is just 35km distant. Registration Details 00001422919
