A cosy, self-contained converted 18th century Barn situated in 500 acres of glorious Kentish countryside, on the Bore Place estate. The Small Barn is located approximately 75 yards away from Bore Place House with its own access via a peaceful courtyard. Beds can be made up as 2 kings on request. Please note that the bedrooms are accessed by spiral staircases so may not be suitable for young children or people who might find that challenging. The space The Small Barn provides rustic yet comfortable accommodation for up to 4 people in 2 bedrooms* with 2 shower rooms/WCs. Beds can be 2 doubles or 4 singles and are made up with cotton linen and towels. It has a well equipped kitchenette, a cosy sitting area and a log burner with logs supplied. The Small Barn has access to a small unenclosed, courtyard garden but is also surrounded by a private 500 acre estate which you are free to explore and includes a market garden, woodlands, farmland, streams, and gardens. It is situated on an organic farm. There are plenty of walks straight from the door, one of which is to a lovely local pub. We are an eco conscious venue - we actively encourage recycling onsite and generate 45% of our energy needs through our wind turbine, photovoltaic panels and by managing our woods to provide woodchip for our heating and our hot water. We also manage and process our own waste water and sewage biologically so it can be reintroduced straight back into our streams. Our gardens and grounds are buzzing with biodiversity - we actively manage our woodlands, ponds, field edges and hedgerows to promote wildlife, and to support our protected species, particularly great crested newts and bats. ***Please note that the bedrooms are accessed by spiral staircases so may not be suitable for young children or people who might find that challenging.*** Guest access We encourage you to treat Small Barn as a home away from home. You will have exclusive use of the barn. We will be on hand for anything you need during your stay. Other things to note The Small Barn is situated at Bore Place - which includes a working farm, organic market gardens, conference centre and an environmental education centre. It is an incredibly peaceful location, being situated in 500 acres of unspoilt countryside. Whilst the house itself is totally private, you might encounter other people on the grounds. The small courtyard garden is not enclosed.
