The Lucky Loon is close to Petersburg and a world away. Just 4 miles from downtown, the house sits on the shore of Frederick Sound. Picture windows and a wrap around deck offer sightings of humpback and orca whales, sea lions, seals, eagles, deer and other wildlife. Have your morning coffee on the deck or in the covered picnic area and watch the sunrise. Take a fishing, glacier or whale watching tour for an unforgettable local experience. Enjoy the outdoor cedar sauna finished in 2024. The Lucky Loon is a 1500 sq. foot house right on the shoreline of Frederick Sound. Stay on your own private acre with incredible views of mountains, the Sound and wildlife. Set up a halibut or salmon charter, a whale watch, a glacier tour or even a kayak trip. I can give you recommendations for local vendors. The Lucky Loon is 3.75 miles from downtown and 1.8 miles down a country road. There is off road parking for your vehicle. A short walk down a path to the entrance. Downstairs there is a bedroom and bathroom for guests who are not comfortable with stairs. I will be there for check in to explain the workings of the house. I can transport guests to and from the airport or ferry but guests must rent a vehicle or take a taxi into town. 1.8 miles down a country road...rural neighborhood with houses on the water side. You can hike and bike the road behind the house but will want a rental car or taxi for picking up groceries and going to town or the harbor. A 10% sales and bed tax is required by the borough and is included in the price!
