Close to Nature Preserves & Schoodic Mountain hiking trails. This cozy cabin has a lot to offer. The cabin sits 50 feet to the water front where you can watch bird life and maybe a seal. Experience a simple way of life, no electricity but battery lights & candles for quiet romantic nights. Outside solar lights to walk from your car to the cabin. Self check in made easy. Outside camp fires & beautiful star gazing is a must. A charcoal grill, picnic table, out side chairs and portable water are provided. Outside water basin for washing hands / pot & pan( for cooking outside). Hand soap & dish soap provided. Your own private porta potty is close to the cabin. A five gallon solar shower for warm water rinse is on site. A boat ferry to Bar Harbor with free parking is in the town of Winter Harbor (13 miles away). Local Lobsters & fresh Blueberries sold in town. Kayak & canoe rentals nearby with option of drop off and pick up. Recommend bring camp stove for quick cooking or bring charcoal for grill for slow cooking. Drive through woods to parking area by the cabin. A few steps away to the water and rocky beach. Easy access to put your kayak in. If you have more family and friends, they can bring a tent & camping gear to set up by cabin with plenty of out door space. Additional $10/person. Dry bundles of wood sold along the road side. Kayak rentals and tours are near by. Antique, art & granite shops. Close by restaurants for lobster, crab rolls, barbecued and beer pub. Local ice cream "SWEET RETREATS"- Maine made ice cream , coffee & baked goodies - with- in walking distance. Hiking trails to Schoodic & Black Mountain in our town of Sullivan. Visit our historic Gordon's Granite Wharf and Sumner Memorial Park. Across the major road is a kids park & library with local (free) WiFi. Be on the quiet side of Acadia National Park and avoid the crowds. Sullivan is a small safe community on the Schoodic National Scenic Byway which makes our town so special! Free bus in Acadia National Park & the Schoodic section of Acadia National Park. Free parking at these locations. Now required are reservations to park at Cadillac MT and Sand Beach in Acadia but not required in Schoodic peninsula the smaller section of Acadia in Winter Harbor near our Red Cabin. Where you can get a boat ferry (passengers only) that goes to Bar Harbor where you can pick up free bus to the Acadia Park.
