Perfect for families, it offers visitors a peaceful escape with access to a diverse range of outdoor pursuits - golfing, fishing, surfing, kayaking and climbing. The space Welcome to An Teach Ceoil – The Music House – a cozy and character-filled coastal cottage nestled in the heart of the Donegal Gaeltacht, just a 5-minute drive from the stunning Blue Flag Carrickfinn Beach. The cottage provides the opportunity to enjoy diverse wildlife and outdoor pursuits, including golfing, fishing, canoeing, kayaking, surfing, sight seeing cruises, island boat trips and day excursions (eg Gola), horse riding, walking and climbing (Mount Errigal and Muckish being close by). Situated in the Gaeltacht area and home to some world famous musicians (e.g Enya, Maire Brennan and Clannad, Altan and Daniel O Donnell) music lovers can experience the authentic and internationally acclaimed traditional music scene by attending ‘seisiúns’ in the numerous pubs in the local area. An Teach Ceoil provides spacious and practical accommodation for up to 7 people and is situated in its own grounds with parking, a garden and a patio area where you can sit and enjoy the sun in the summer months. It is fully-equipped to make the most of your stay and wireless broadband is available throughout the cottage. The generous yet homely living room has comfortable sofas to lounge on and an open turf fire to keep guests cosy. A large bay window area presents a bright and roomy dining space, perfect for family meals and the open plan kitchen has everything needed to feel at home. Just off the kitchen is a utility room with with a washing machine, tumble dryer and additional space for storage. The peace and quiet at the cottage will help ensure visitors have a good night’s sleep. There are three large, comfortable ensuite bedrooms (one on the ground floor) with duvets and plenty of blankets to make sure guests stay snug whatever the weather. There is an additional bathroom downstairs which has a separate bath, shower unit, wash-hand basin and toilet. Surfers and swimmers (and others!) can enjoy the warmth of the energy efficient sauna after some Atlantic Ocean water activities! The cottage has its own large parking area and shares a driveway entrance gate with a neighbouring cottage. 🎻 Whether you’re a musician, a hiker, or simply seeking peace by the sea, this warm and welcoming space offers a truly authentic West Donegal experience. Guest access While a beach is within walking distance (6 minute walk!) , a car is necessary to get about the local area. Annagry is under a 10 minute drive and has all local amenities including: post office, pharmacy, supermarket, cafes, pubs, restaurants, take away, book shop, Catholic church, petrol station, hardware shop and hairdresser. The historic St Michael's (Church of Ireland) is within walking distance of the cottage and Carrickfinn Blue Flag beach is a 5 minute drive away. Other things to note There is an additional charge for oil usage which guests are asked to calculate at the end of their stay. Typically-depending on usage-this is between €20-€40 per week.
