The Silhac Cabin

The Silhac hut, comfortable and warm, is nestled in the heart of the land, on its highest part. From the living room windows, the panorama unfolds over the surrounding hills. Here, time has stopped. The landscape is slowly changing. The forest surrounds us. The painting is alive, very smooth. It takes us away. On the stewardship side, everything is provided: towels, sheets, toiletries and basic kitchen products. All that remains is to savor, nestled by the fire. The space The cabin is equipped with electricity, hot water, shower, compost dry toilet and wood stove. It is ideal for 2 people. The shower is glazed and overlooks the outside. It's one of the best parts of the house with the wood-burning stove (and the view!) The bedroom is functional and reduced to a minimum, in order to give the living room a maximum surface area. The living room is fully glazed overlooking the valley facing it. Nature unfolds smoothly behind the windows. The clouds slide between the hills and we watch them pass. Guest access The cabin is located at the end of a wooded and hilly hamlet. A dozen houses surround us but we perceive them very little. The access road to get there is dirt and rather bumpy. It is 500 m long. We have a parking space on the property, below the cabin, about 30 meters away. To enter the house, you have to go around it by a stone staircase taken from the slope. The entrance door with a lock is accessible by a wooden walkway. You will need to keep in mind the fact that you are arriving in a house surrounded by nature and that it is sometimes rough. There are sometimes spiders and insects (but few mosquitoes). I recommend sneakers or walking boots to get around. Other things to note WiFi The house does not have wifi, making it an ideal stay for a digital detox and to recharge your batteries a little. However, the place has 3G and allows you to not completely cut yourself off from the world if you wish. Toiletries The cabin is equipped with quality and environmentally friendly shampoo and shower soap so you don't need to bring any! All cosmetic (and place maintenance) products are free of chemicals in order to take care of those around us. The sanitation of the property is individual and the products used on site return to the garden. Neighboring animals The cabin is located on the edge of a wooded area and we share the garden with birds, butterflies, dragonflies, bees, lizards and many other woodland creatures. The cabin is regularly visited by larger animals such as wild boars, deer and does. I respect these animals, while also working to keep the cabin out of their reach. House & Objects The cabin was designed and then partially built by me over many months. It is precious to me, like most of the objects that are inside and that I hunted down with my friend. We're counting on you to take care of it. In addition to the previous points, the fees also cover the supply of firewood for colder nights, as well as cooking essentials (organic).
