The flow of the house allows for a central meeting place in the Great Room while the private bedrooms allow for quiet and calm. Surrounded on three sides by 10+ acres of forest it is ideal for terrain exploring from the brook on the Northeast end of the property to the small meadow on the Southwest. Grab a fantastic cup of coffee, breakfast or lunch less than a mile up the road in Round Top at Hatmann's Cafe (Wed-Sun), the Log Cabin Cafe or visit the newly completed Hannafords on Main Street in Cairo for all your shopping needs to cook in the fully stocked Chalet Kitchen. Easily located right up the NYS Thruway at Exit 20 (or 21, you decide), the Chalet is only 2.5 hours from the heart of NYC. The Chalet is located about 20-25 minutes from lots of towns all around. What type of activities are you looking for? I'd be happy to make some recommendations. Here's some to consider - Saugerties (quaint town with antique stores, cafes, bookshops), Woodstock ("New Age" meets the 60's) Hudson (cosmopolitan meets the Catskills), and more. For hiking there's the rigors of Kaaterskill Falls or Windham's state park and trails or for the more tame, there's the scenic splendor of the Windham flat trail (more like a public park) that meanders in a several miles-wide walking trail. Or choose from the several hundreds of additional options you will find in the literature conveniently located for your perusal within the Great Room back home at the Chalet!
