Description
The cottage is set in the stunning grounds and ruins of a 14th Century Abbey, on the banks of the River Calder in the beautiful countryside of the ribble valley. There is easy access to motorway and rail networks. The cottage has a cosy lounge, with a sofa and table for two with a view. There is a well-stocked kitchen and downstairs bathroom with shower. The bedroom upstairs has a sink, storage and a lovely wrought iron bed with river views The space Lounge - has a single sofa bed, dining table and chairs, desk, WiFi, central heating and an electric “wood burner”. The room has stunning views down the tree-lined long river walk. Kitchen- the well equipped kitchen has an electric fan oven, gas hob, fridge with small freezer compartment, microwave, dishwasher, crockery, glasses and cutlery for 4 with a range of pans, bowls and utensils. Bathroom - this is downstairs with a shower, sink and toilet. Bedroom- has a wrought iron double bed, drawers, wardrobe, sink, bedside cabinets with lamps and wonderful views through the wooded Abbey grounds and down to the River Calder. Grounds - own parking space next to the lodge, garden area next to the river and access to the Abbey grounds. Guest access You access the lodge through the medieval abbey gatehouse, across the cobbled courtyard and into the abbey grounds. The keys are collected from a member of the abbey staff in the main house. Other things to note The grounds of the Abbey are open to the public in the day.
