Sunflower shores is a true log cabin, in a small neighborhood built on the shores of a clean quiet lake. UPDATES FOR 2026 include: new TV and sofa in sitting area of master bedroom, new sofa in living room and new docks. Unwind on the deck. Swim, fish, canoe or kayak (included). Hike in nearby Savage Gulf or Fall Creek Falls. Go to Chattanooga, take in the sights and come back for an evening by the outdoor fire ring, or inside fireplace. Pick apples or buy Amish goods from the local farmers. The space SUNFLOWER SHORES HAS NO STANDARD CHECK IN OR OUT TIMES. The cabin is usually ready by 1:00pm on check in day and your check out time is set to ensure 24 hours between guests, per our safe cleaning protocols. It will never be before 1:00pm, and if we do not have back to back bookings, you are welcome to stay as long as is practical for you on your check out day. We also build most of our cleaning fee into our nightly pricing, so, the only extras are tax and Air BnB'S fee. That means no big price jump when you hit request to book. The cabin has satellite wifi, so you can stay connected,with two TVs upstairs in the loft and bedroom and one downstairs in the master bedroom. It's important to note that there is often NO CELL PHONE SERVICE at the cabin or anywhere on the lake. We use wifi calling or the What's app for our smart phones, but if you absolutely have to make calls instead of use messaging or wifi, I HIGHLY SUGGEST FINDING OUT WHAT APP YOUR PHONE USES FOR WIFI CALLS BEFORE ARRIVAL, as we don't want anyone to be disappointed if their phone won't make or receive calls. I also highly recommend saving check in instructions and directions to the notes section of your phone or printing them off as there is limited cell phone function on the road leading to the cabin. There are plenty of books, games, a DVD player and a good selection of family freindly movies available. Our main attractions are our quiet neighborhood, the no gasoline motor lake, the kayaks and canoe that come with the cabin, great area hiking, bright stars, a rock fire ring for nighttime fires, and a lakefront deck for relaxing. You'll also love our 16 inch deep bow front soaking tub in the master bath, complimentary condiments, tea, coffee, filters, sugar, creamer, oil, etc. The kitchen at Sunflower Shores is well stocked with spices, paper and dishwashing products, a few canned goods and usually something like pasta and jar sauce or soup to make an emergency meal, so if you come in late and hungry, we've got you covered. We want ALL our guest to have a great time and really only have 2 hard and fast rules- NO CHILDREN UNDER 5- BECAUSE WE ARE 25 YARDS FROM THE LAKE, OUR INSURANCE DOESN'T ALLOW IT and NO SMOKING/NO VAPING- INSIDE. If you bring children under 5 you will be asked to leave with without a refund, by our property manager, who lives in the neighborhood, and if you vape or smoke inside, your payment method will be charged $250.00 for hydrostatic cleaning of our wood walls to get the smell out. Smoking is allowed outside on the deck, docks, or by the fire ring. Thanks for your cooperation. We really would HATE to ask someone to leave or charge them for cleaning, but we must follow our insurance policies rules and we must keep the house safe for those with smoke allergies. Guest access The entire house, yard and lake. Two kayaks ( one adult, 1 youth) and a canoe are available as well. Other things to note CELL PHONE SERVICE IS NOT ALWAYS AVAILABLE INSIDE THE CABIN. You can use wifi calling or an app such as What's App depending on your phone, but please check out what your particular phone needs ahead of time. There are a few phones and plans that don't allow any sort of wifi calling, and we recommend taking care of this before check in if it's going to be an issue for you. We have the best fiber wifi available and three TVs, a DVD player and family friendly movies as well as Direct tv. We do not do same day check in and outs,. This lets us offer a THOROUGH cleaning and flexible check in and out times. We think it’s worth it not to rush our guests. We cannot rent to anyone under 25 or allow children under 5 due to HOA and Insurance restrictions,. Guests without a positive review on Air BnB will be charged a $250.00 deposit on their credit card, which is refundable if no damage or extra cleaning is needed. The cabin is about 30 minutes away from downtown Dunlap, where services, stores and restaurants are, so plan ahead. Walmart has a selection of wine and beer, and there is a liquor store in town, but if you want something special, you might want to bring it with you. As previously stated, we cannot accept children under 5 due to our proximity to the lake, and the cabin is non smoking and non vaping. An ashtray is provided outside on the deck for smokers. Smoking/vaping is NOT ALLOWED inside the cabin. PLEASE ABIDE BY THESE RULES. If you bring children under 5 our property manager, who lives in the neighborhood, will evict you and there will be no refund. If you smoke/vape inside , your payment method will be charged$250.00 for hydrostatic cleaning of our wood walls . We have neighbors who live here full time and we like them, so please, no parties or events without prior approval and please keep noise to a minimum after 10:00pm. We have a futon in the loft upstairs that makes into a twin bed for a child or smaller adult . We also have a very good self inflating airbed that we can leave for you if we know ahead of time. . If you move furniture, PLEASE move it back. My cleaning lady is a 60 something Amish lady who does a fabulous job, but she doesn't need to move furniture.
