Situated on the side of Kinder Scout, Upper House is the perfect place to stay for a friends weekend break or a family holiday. The Old Farmstead boasts three luxury bedrooms, two beautiful Bathrooms and wonderfully luxurious living spaces which includes the The Whisky Room and the spacious Aga Kitchen. Outside you can wander through the Courtyard, tootle around the estates' 30 acres of grounds or go and explore Kinder Scout, as there are excellent access to the many footpath's on Kinder Scout. The space If you stay at The Farmstead you are in a great location to enjoy stunning scenery and a host of beautiful walks. The accommodation itself comprises of the grand entrance hallway with the stairs rising to the first floor and the galleried landing. Through into the original part of the house which dates back to the 14th Century. The Gun Room has a lovely fireplace with a cosy wood burner then you go into the Aga Kitchen where you and your guests can cook, chat and enjoy a glass of wine together. For those who just want to lounge in front of the TV after a long day's hike there is the snug. On the first floor you will find three luxurious bedrooms. Agatha's Room which is a double room (with an additional day bed, sleeping 3 in total) and is the room where Agatha Christie herself would rest her head at night and plot her next thriller. Then there is Rosalind's Room which is a great family room with a double bed and two single beds. Finally there is the sunrise room with a double bed. The Stunning, luxury bathroom with the free standing bath and Victorian style shower and his and hers sinks, plus a second shower room are also accessed on this floor. Guest access Due to the remote location, the property is approximately 2 kilometers from the beautiful village of Hayfield and so you can drive down to the village to sample the cuisine at the local pubs and the Italian restaurant located there. Other things to note Please note we like to welcome you personally to the house. Check in is between 15:00-16:30pm. With this in mind notification of your time of arrival would be greatly appreciated! Please note that the listing is self catering and we would advise stopping at a bigger super market on route prior to arrival for the duration of your stay. The local village store is great for smaller items such a butter, milk, bread etc. Be sure to check out our welcome pack on arrival for the local pubs, attractions and walks. Please kindly note we do not allow Stag or Hen parties. If we find your party is a stag or hen on arrival you will be asked to leave.
