Sixty Steps Studio Dubrovnik
Sixty Steps Studio Dubrovnik
Description
Enjoy a stylish experience at this centrally located, elegant, open space. A modern inspiration within the imposing city wall of Dubrovnik. The space Over 70 years ago at the third floor was used for dance. Our apartment is actually part of a former large ballroom. The old dance parquet still exists and we have worked it up and received it. The color of the walls is also in line with the historical prefix - light blue with gray. A typical natural quarry stone wall with wonderful, huge log wood windows gives the rooms a warm, authentic atmosphere. The unusually high rooms give an idea of the old dimensions of the hall. After the Second World War, the hall was divided into three apartments to master the lack of housing at the time, and so Marko and his family lived in this one apartment. Today the apartment has an open, flowing floor plan with living room, an open kitchen with dining area, dressing room, an intimate bedroom with writing area and an interesting, modern bathroom. We kept some beautiful old family pieces (by the way furniture from Vienna) and mixed with Italian design furniture of the 60s (Ponti, Fronzoni, Castiglioni) and own designs by Nika. We love to combine different styles, but all things are in common-it's a clear, simple, unexcited design. The decor is timeless, modern and sustainable, because it is composed of antiques, vintage pieces and quality carpentry work - a rarity in Dubrovnik and a liberating treat for our guest. This is topped off with original postwar and contemporary Croatian art (Jankovic, Pintaric, Murtic). Our apartment has a very fine, classic record collection that you are more than welcome to listen to our gramophone. The old terrazzo tiles have been relocated in the bathroom and underfloor heating pampers your feet here in winter. For you as a guest, it is particularly exciting to experience how you can live very generously in such a tightly urban city. The apartment has 54 sqm and almost 4 m high ceilings.
