The space This cozy one bedroom home was built in 2007 and designed and decorated by us. It has an expansive vaulted ceiling in the living room which creates a feeling of grand well being, and is built of insulated foam blocks filled with concrete, making the R-value as high as 45, so is also snug, cool in summer and warm in winter. There is comfortable and easy to operate monitor heating, and a minisplit for both AC and heating. There are ceiling fans in the bedroom and living /dining areas. Our house is the yellow clapboard further down the driveway. The two houses are completely private and independent of each other, but are connected by a path if you need to knock on our door to ask a question or need assistance. Guest access Here on the property, you will be able to freely access our 3 acre field with views of the Black Range, and Browns Creek which runs along side the field. There are also another 4 acres of woods to go relax in if you choose. July through early September, most years, you may pick blueberries from our bushes. We have some swings under the big maple tree, which is under the big sky above the Black Range, in the middle of our field, which is great for a game of frisbee, "all-terrain bocce-ball", volleyball, or just a quiet stroll. We can direct you to several public access areas to the South Toe river, two by car and one on foot, about a third of a mile away. The entire downstairs of the house, and its front veranda, are for guest use; the upstairs loft is not a part of the rental except by special request. We have created a sweet little library of books, especially with travelers in mind, and there are toys and games for children of all ages. We only allow pre-approved pets, with a preference for poodles or poodle mixes that are fully house trained. Please inquire first rather than instant book if you have a pet. Other things to note In rare snowy weather in winter, the driveway could be an issue, in which case we park up at the road in the church parking lot, and walk the driveway up to the house. In fair weather, this house is fine for those with most handicaps, including some wheel chairs and walkers(please contact us to decide if the access is right for you), but in snowy icy winter conditions, the driveway is only for those with 4 wheel drive, and the ability to manage on foot up and down a potentially icy or snowypath. This rarely ever happens, and in the event that inclement weather is on the way, I will contact the guest and give them warning so they can cancel if We provide free wifi. This home is loaded with special amenities that really make it homey and convenient. Lots of tools and utensils for those who love to cook, a printer, a retro record and CD player, air purifier, coffee grinder, several blender types, a full selection of pots, pans, and baking dishes and trays, and many of the little things(colored pencils, notebooks, modern reference books) we expect to do without when traveling. Our rental home was curated by a very special decorator/ homemaker who did an extra special job for us!
