There are 3 bedrooms with queen-sized beds, memory foam mattresses, goose-down pillows, and duvet. Linen bedding, towels from Parachute, bed covers from Pottery Barn. Fully equipped kitchen with everything needed to cook and bake or whip a quick snack. Please, use exhaust when extensive cooling is done . There is a wood-burning grill by the fire pit, propane griddle on the deck ( seasonal from May to November). Coffee - regular and decaf, drip and French Press, coffee grinder, and beans are available. Teas- regular and decaf, easy breakfast options - oats, flour, pancake mix, waffle mix, and waffle maker. There are plenty of sitting areas - sofa, chairs, poufs, 2 extra in the hallway closet. Outdoor area - wrap-around deck is spacious, and furnished with comfortable outdoor furniture (seasonal ) for morning coffee and stargazing at night. Please, note that there are field mice and chipmunks all around the property, and the mice can get insight in cold weather . We don’t kill them as it’s a part of echo system in nature . Droppings can be seeing . There is a Basketball stand at the entrance to the property, balls are in the mudroom. The cast iron wood stove makes you warm and cozy in chilly evenings, it’s NOT an “ambience “ element , it heats the whole house very fast . Gets very hot , exercise caution, especially with children . Requires some skill to start it , look up video online , or let us know if you want our help to start it for you . Most importantly is to create air flow - open a window a little bit and bottom ash tray to create draft . Do not open the front glass door , wood goes in through the side door. There is hiking right off the property, the trail takes you to the East Kill River. Snowshoes are available . We welcome vacation stays and give nice discount , we won’t be able to provide with access to the washer /dryer , and are offering to do your laundry for you . Just leave the bag outside and we will take care of it . The property is NOT fenced. If you bring your furry friend, supervise them there are wild animals in the woods. We love to accommodate small to medium breed dogs and charge a small fee to steam clean the surfaces to provide allergen-free environment for the next guests. We have a pet bed , feel free to use it. We ask not to let the doggy on the furniture . We encourage guests not to leave their precious furry babies unattended for the whole day , and if they must stay alone , they need to be trained to use wee wee ( not provided ) pads or be crated ( big crate is provided ). We want to provide clean and smell free environment for next guests . We can also walk your dog for you . We love animals and have lots of our own. The property is minutes away from the Hunter and Windham Mountains, Kasterskill Falls, Colgate Lake, and CD Lane Park where kayaks and boats are rented for a small tip to lifeguards ( may to September ). JJ Black Angus Farm is 10 minutes away - the best meats in the region and fresh eggs. Guest access The cabin is situated on almost 3 acres and neighboring with state land and another empty lot so feel free to roam the backwoods for as long as you possibly can. 4 WD in winter months is a must, the driveway is steep. Entire space is included in this rental (except the basement and a couple of closets, they will be locked). Please, make yourself at home . There will be an automated message on the morning of the arrival date with the lockbox code sent. We suggest you download and save the access codes, WiFi instructions, and directions to the property before making the drive, as cell phone service can be spotty in the mountains. Other things to note Please remember that we are in the woods where there is wild life. Don’t leave any food/garbage outside and in the car .Don’t feed bears, or other animals. We are in a “tick “ area , please, be aware . Please note that there is no air conditioning in the cabin , we are on a mountaintop and it’s always cool and comfortable. The house is well-insulated to keep the cool air in, to keep the cool air in , we close all the windows and shades in the mid morning and run the ceiling fans. Please remember that you are staying in a house , not a hotel . Please treat the space with respect .
