Located just minutes from downtown, but you'll feel like you're nestled deep in the woods. Relax and enjoy our private guesthouse in the Overlook neighborhood. Within close walking distance to public transportation, and a short drive to restaurants, bars, shopping. Mississippi Ave, Williams St, and the Alberta Arts District are nearby. The MAX line is an eight minute walk away. The space Set against a backdrop of gently swaying douglas fir and aspen trees, the Tower House is a quiet and woodsy refuge in the heart of the city. Our unique property is situated on a quarter acre of land. With no neighbors in view, you'll be able to enjoy the greenery from your upstairs balcony while sipping on a cup of Portland's famous coffee. Our space is quiet, light filled, and private. We offer the following amenities for your comfort: Open floor-plan, clean lines, exposed beams and wood framed windows with a modern craftsman undertone. Large windows look out onto our expansive backyard and let in lots of natural light. If you’re a morning riser you’ll appreciate getting up with the sun. If you prefer darkness while sleeping in, this may not be the place for you. Convenience kitchen with sink, counter top toaster oven, under-counter fridge/ freezer, French press, and electric kettle. Dishes, glassware, and utensils are provided. The kitchen is also stocked with all basic essentials, locally roasted ground coffee, and a selection of teas. Please note this is not a full kitchen - it’s best for guests who will be dining out. Tiled bathroom features a soaking tub and shower, skylight, spa towels, hairdryer, and complimentary bath products. Low profile platform queen bed with pillow-top mattress and 100% cotton coordinating linens for a restful sleep. Sitting area with comfortable, plush couch and small Crosley turntable for playing records. Flat screen television with DVD player and Amazon Fire TV (use your password for Netflix, HBO Now, etc). *Please note: the TV is not featured in any of our photos, but it sits against the wall, in front of the bed. Small dinette table suitable to use for dining, as well as a laptop work station. French doors open onto a spacious balcony with chairs. Free street parking in front of house. Guest access The Tower House is a bi-level space. You'll have separate access to the upstairs studio and balcony (the lower level is used for storage). Other things to note We are approximately 65 miles from Mt. Hood, 1.5 hours from the Oregon Coast (Cannon Beach), 3 hours from Seattle, 45 minutes to 2 hours from Oregon Wine Country and 3.5 hours from Central Oregon (Bend/Mt. Bachelor).
