Welcome to “Loretta”, a 1910 charming cottage nestled on a working farm in the picturesque countryside of Dungog. The house has original period features throughout, with bathrooms renovated in 2021. It is spacious with a sweeping verandah making it ideal to watch wildlife and animals grazing in the paddocks. The house is perfect for families with pets, riding, sewing and book groups. Dungog has many attractions including the Common, Tin Shed Brewery, historic James theatre and boutique shops. The space The cottage features four bedrooms and is furnished in style suited to the period style. The sleeping arrangements are: Bedroom 1: One queen bed with study desk Bedroom 2: One queen bed with en suite Bedroom 3: One double bed Bedroom 4: One queen bed with pull out single bed There is also a full bathroom featuring a spacious double shower, bath, and washing machine. The kitchen is fully equipped with a Smeg oven, and a dishwasher and gas stove top. There is plenty of outdoor space and a large garden to explore. Relax on the outdoor covered deck and soak up the spectacular views across the valley. A Weber Q is available for all your barbecuing needs. In the living room you can enjoy the open fireplace in the cooler months. Unwind with the TV (fitted with a Chromecast) or alternatively, the games cupboard is fully stocked. The property is air conditioned and has WiFi. Guest access Loretta is situated on a quiet road and there is plenty of off street parking. There are endless activities on offer around the Dungog Shire. Take an easy 15 minute drive into Dungog, where you can browse boutique shops and eat at great cafes. The Hive & Gobbler run unique craft workshops and the Tin Shed Brewery comes highly recommended. See a movie or live performance at the James Theatre, which is the oldest cinema still operating in Australia. And of course, spend a day walking or riding the Dungog Common which features multiple trails across 650 hectares. It is suitable for both beginner and experienced mountain bikers. Further afield, Barrington Tops and Chichester Dam are less than an hour away. Loretta is around one hour from Nelson Bay and Newcastle. Please note, Loretta is located on a fully working cattle farm. Although the cottage and garden are fully fenced, walks on the wider property are not permitted for the safety of both guests and grazing animals. You can enjoy a lovely walk down the nearby Welshmans Creek road or on the Dungog Common. For this same reason, we regretfully do not allow pets. Other things to note Dogs are allowed in the house but strictly not in bedrooms and on couches. The surrounds can be enclosed so dogs can safely stay within the yard . It is a working farm so we ask that all dogs are kept on leads for walks. Horses can stay overnight in stable (no riding on property). Many people come to Dungog to ride on the Common.
