Or, if you just want to relax, you can simply do that here 🧘‍♂️. 1.5 - 2 hours from NYC general, 1:30 hours from Upper West side and Upper East Side, Bronx, Harlem, Queens, Yonkers, Westchester. (2 hrs). Three ish hours from Boston area and four hours via scenic drive from Philly!! PLUS, the FRESH AIR!! We're in the country!! Abundance of FRESH FRUITS AND VEGETABLES AND PRODUCE. HIGH QUALITY AND CLEAN FOOD OPTIONS nearby, including several fine dining and other awesome spots. We love children and pets but please be mindful that the cottage is designed and set-up for two people and is best enjoyed that way. Special requests, please feel free to write us. We are able to have well trained and well behaved and clean dogs (please select appropriately when making a reservation). We are unable to host infants and children due to unfortunate, repeated, poor experiences during such stays. We understand not every family is the same but we have tried to be accommodating and it generally ends up as a negative experience for us, therefore at this time we are unable to host infants and children and are only able to host well trained and well behaved non shedding dogs. Amazing hikes and trails, with grand picturesque views, nearby and here. Perfect pretty much any time of the year. In winters, bring your X-country skis, snow shoes (depending on snow conditions) and ski here. Also, Hunter and Bellayre resorts are 45-50 minutes away. Rail trail allows for all activities as well. Mohonk and Minnewaska are in the backyard. Heat Pump / Split AC with cooling and heat even at below 0 (through -10 degrees Fahrenheit). If you prefer to, simply stay in and cozy up!! WiFi provided as a. additional service only and there is no charge. If it's not functioning we can troubleshoot to an extent but if you're reliant on WiFi, we can't guarantee it's service. Haven't had a problem (once, broad system outage) yet, but we disclaim. Immediate Access to adjacent Rondout creek and the rail trail and on-site remains of the historic Delaware & Hudson canal that borders the creek. Gunks are next to us, if you're a nature enthusiast, hiker or a climber. Several trails. We can help pick spots. It is perfect to relax and be within short drives to towns like High Falls, serene New Paltz, rolling Gardiner, charming Rosendale, Stone Ridge, Ellenville, amazing Hudson and of course, Woodstock. 40-45 minutes to Woodstock and 30-40 minutes to New Paltz. Wineries, breweries and distilleries are 10 - 30 minutes away. - Whitecliff - Robibero - Adair - Bad Seed - Tuthill Dist. - Bashakill - Westwind - Applewood - Rough Cut Brewery Last few are less than 5-10 minutes from us. Kingston has some very nice culinary experiences to offer along with other towns in the 30-45 minute drive. Several good distilleries in Hudson Valley which are accessible too. Makes for an excellent place for wildlife to venture on and view the same along with amazing birds and colors. In Spring and Summer go find swimming holes or melting ice formations right near by. Various hiking, rock and mountain climbing spots. If you like to ride a bike, a horse, off road or on, truly amazing spots to go through and to. Take your off road vehicles to rail trails, go fishing, foraging, or simply hang out and find inner peace :). Winter - Go skiing to Hunter, Bellayre, Mohonk and other nearby spots including Wyndham. VT is a couple of hours away only too. Truly amazing drives and riding trails near by! We have coffee, tea and basic spices in the kitchen with a cooking range, refrigerator and a tankless water heater (propane). Coffee: Nespressso. Just ask us for milk for the morning, if you need it. Large Weber grill with temperature gauge, fire pit and Adirondack chairs. Please use safely. BYOC - bring your charcoal and wood. Please bring along tools as well, we do have tongs and meat picker but if you need something specific, please feel free to bring along MUST Light any and all fire AWAY from the cottage and, safely PLEASE. Please do note that the cottage is in the country, quite near the woods, this can bring along an opportunity for insects, critters and small animals to venture in. Of course, we have seals and screens and other precautionary measures in place, however, we want to provide this information as it is applicable. We also use natural rodent, ant and other insect and critter repellents and deterrents and those should not be confused for insect eggs or any such organic matter. We do place those under the sink, behind the appliances and cabinets and other areas such that we can achieve a clean environment. Kindly note that we are not hoteliers and our cottage is a humble place of respite. If you seek hotel like amenities, we suggest looking at accomodations that suit your needs accordingly. If you go around the land, we are assuming you know how to navigate in the woods and other areas on the land, including in the water bodies, wet lands, etc. We can not take responsibility for any damage or loss that may occur on land or water or otherwise on our land. Make sure to bring weather appropriate vehicle and clothes. Please don't go where you can get stuck or slip. We'll provide directions before your arrival. If you use Waze, that'll work better than other maps and GPS systems. Other things to note HOUSE RULES: No shoes inside please. There is a tray for 'em right at the door. House rules and other information available in the cottage as well. Wifi available. High speed. However, since we are not the providers, we can not guarantee it, but as of now, we haven't had trouble with it. PETS - Maximum pets allowed is ONE pet and must be trained and be well behaved, under 65 pounds. Exceptions must be pre-approved. Please contact us BEFORE you bring a pet and please note the cleaning company does charge an additional pet cleaning fee. Any damages to the wood flooring - scratches, bite marks will be charged. We truly appreciate your understanding in this matter. All guests must be disclosed to Airbnb and added to the reservation. All pets must be disclosed to Airbnb and added to the reservation. No professional photo shoots and or private events allowed allowed without our consent and permission. Price will differ for such service. At least $1500 a night. If you would like to visit for a professional photoshoot, please contact us and we can provide pricing and other costs seperately. Same, please contact us for a private event. Kindly note that you are going to be in a Cottage and despite excellent insulation, cold and heat can and will seep in, therefore we suggest dressing up according to the weather. Same is true of insects and critters - not usually but especially unusual weather can allow for that. During winters, wearing and dressing in smart layers, wearing woolen or thick socks is highly recommend. Yes, even inside!! In winter snow, you might have to walk 40-50ft to get to the cottage if the snow is heavy. During summer, please roll down the shades on West and south side down. Enjoy being close to the elements. We do have a Split AC with cooling and heating so the place is not cold but will not feel like the tropics either. For summer we also have a fan to circulate air around along with the Split AC. Open windows to circulate air first and close windows doors after the place cools down and then let the AC do its job. Coming here to be closer to nature and to have peaceful and tranquil moments, we suggest dressing smartly outside and indoors. Layers in winters and covered skin in summers is recommended. Depending on weather conditions, protection from insects is also recommended. Suggest using insect repellent as well. We are in the country, in and near the woods and we have animals creatures around and near us, insects, birds and several other creatures. Let's please help us maintain our tranquility here..
