These tracks and elevated boardwalks take you on a meandering environmental adventure through saltmarsh, mangroves and tidal flats. Alternatively, chilling out with a glass in hand at the Wild Food Farm or Purple Hen winery might be more to your taste. Walking from the house, along the water and past the pier for scrumptious fish ‘n’ chips served at Tides of Rhyll is one of our family favourites. Cowes is an easy 10 min drive where you’ll find a variety of shops, eateries and supermarkets. Walk the pier, grab an ice-cream or enjoy dinner overlooking the bay; all wonderful beach holiday must-dos. Additional highlights of the island include watching the world-renowned penguin parade, exploring the treetop boardwalks of the Koala Conservation Reserve and witnessing the power of the waves on a wild day at the ‘Nobbies’. There are a variety of great surf and swimming beaches around the island. For those who enjoy a more reflective pace, art galleries, yoga, massage, or a day spa treatment might be just the thing needed to nurture and renew you.
