Cottage, countryside and beach, close to Deauville

The 'Chaumette' is a half-timbered, cob and thatched cottage. Occasionally rented since 2015, it has been a 2* classified tourist accommodation since Dec. 2021. It is located in the 'Golden Triangle' of Calvados, 3 minutes from the beach, and 10 minutes from Deauville and Villers. Outside, a garden, ping pong table, horses from the neighboring stud farm. Quiet and family-friendly. Close to attractions, sports activities and shops. Pets not allowed. Extra cleaning. The space CLASSIFICATION AS 2-STAR TOURIST FURNITURE (since December 2021) Please read the "WARNING" below! The 'Chaumette' is a typical half-timbered, mud and thatched cottage. It is located 'between the sea and the countryside', that is to say that it combines the advantages of the countryside and the immediate proximity of the beaches of Blonville sur Mer (3 km) and Villers sur Mer. Deauville, its boards, its casino, its film festival, its two racecourses are 6-7 km away. The nightclub 'Les Planches' is 1 km away. Many equestrian centers welcome you within 10 minutes by car. Located in a small hamlet on a hill, the house is surrounded by pastures and horses approach the end of the garden. The surrounding villages are typical, accessible by a countryside dotted with stud farms. La Chaumette was completely renovated in 2013. The ground floor comprises 4 rooms in a row for a total of 45 m2. We broke the partitions between 3 rooms to form a long set that includes: a living room-reading corner, a dining room accommodating 8 people, and another living room arranged towards a large stone fireplace. The kitchen, behind the fireplace, is fully equipped: oven, induction cooktop, dishwasher, washing and drying machine, microwave oven, various robots. There is a separate toilet area. Two staircases provide access to 3 bedrooms and a bathroom. Each adult room has a 190*140 bed, a storage area and a sink area for one of them. The children's room includes two pull-out beds to easily accommodate 4 young children. The bathroom is an old bedroom transformed to accommodate a bathtub, shower and separate toilet. The painted floor prohibits water games in the bathtub but keeps all its old character upstairs accentuated by the sloping roof, old doors and exposed beams. Although old, the house now includes all modern equipment: electric heating, double glazed windows, stereo, WiFi, alarm. Only the TV is excluded to let us enjoy evenings by the fire, card games, our books and nap times. La Chaumette is the perfect starting point for hiking, horseback riding or cycling, relaxing at the beach located a 5-minute drive (15-minute walk) or simply relaxing in peace. The children will run in the garden or in the nearby fields. CAUTION: - The preparation of the house and the cleaning are provided by Marina. The cleaning is extra: we ask you for €130 and this includes sheets and towels (€90 if you are less than 4, or 4 including 2 young children). You can leave this amount with Marina (cash or check), or send me a transfer in advance (ask me). - there is a septic tank: do not throw oils, chemicals, towels, tampons and other similar products in it! - We do not accept pets. Guest access In the heart of the golden triangle, between sea and countryside, La Chaumette is located 3 km from the sea and 2 hours from Paris. The A13 is 15 minutes away by car. Wi-Fi Quiet location on the hills of Blonville. Immediate proximity to the sea (3 km), stud farms, racecourses, Deauville/Trouville, then Ouistreham or the D-Day beaches. Close to the sea, Deauville (6.5 km), Beaumont en Auge (8 km), Houlgate (12 km), Caen (42 km). Paris is 2 hours away) Unobstructed view - 1,000 m2 garden. Quality environment. Other things to note We live in Saint-Germain-en-Laye (1h45 drive from Blonville). We love the area: its calm, its attractions, its countryside, the proximity to Paris. We go there frequently to relax, enjoy the omnipresence of horses and the proximity to the sea, but also to carry out the small works that continue to improve our home. We love the area. La Chaumette is close enough to Paris to allow us to frequently spend relaxing weekends there. It is also a house that we want to be family-friendly: welcoming for our relatives and friends. You can't get bored: in addition to the many permanent local activities, there are special attractions in summer: guided tours, leisure centers for children, concerts, exhibitions.
