This vast cottage is located on the Château du Saulce domain, a former Templar commandery founded in 1216 and taken over by the Order of Malta in the 14th century. The domain is composed of a small castle in the Versailles style with a beautiful park and several annex buildings around a courtyard with holiday cottages available for rent. The space The cottage combines two interconnecting attached houses, which can also be rented separately. The access from one house to the other is through one of the bedrooms or from the outside. The buildings have been fully renovated but keep their unique 18th century charm with old stones and timber structures. Each house has its living room and kitchen. One of the living rooms has a large table to seat 12/12 people. There are five bedrooms in total. You have access to outside tables and a barbecue in the shared courtyard. Noisy events are not allowed. You can access a sauna, a ping pong table and additional outdoor games after prior reservation. A washing machine, dryer, and iron are available upon request. Other things to note This accommodation is the perfect starting point to discover and enjoy the Burgundy region. Many activities are possible nearby, including biking routes along the “Canal du Nivernais” and the Yonne river, hiking trails, picturesque villages like Chablis and Vezelay, the castle of Guédelon, the historic old town of Auxerre, vineyards with wine tasting, and several gastronomic restaurants.
