Swaashramam is located on the Palani to Kodaikanal road, just before 16 km from buzzing standard tourist spots of Kodaikanal town. It is located conveniently next to the road/request bus stop. The view is majestic showcasing the grandeur of the nature. On cloudy days, the misty clouds may pass through the property, engulfing the nature lovers. The space There are 4 rooms with 8 beds in all. There are 2 bathrooms and 1 kitchen with basic equipment. There are sit outs all around the house enabling you to enjoy the scenic beauty of the nature. The house accommodation can range from 1 to 8 people. Occasionally, more people may be accommodated upon guests' prior request in a dormitory. A caretaker family stays and manages the farm while attending to the guests. Amenities: Essentials: Towels, bedsheets, soap, shampoo and toilet paper. Wi-Fi BSNL Landline Hot water Power cuts and power fluctuations are common in hilly areas. Hence the above promised amenities may be impacted intermittently. 3 car parking facility - Free Building staff – 1 caretaker 24X7 Serving maid from 10AM to 4PM can be arranged on extra charges. Food can be prepared in the kitchen provided or ordered to be cooked by the caretaker. Private entrance Long term stays may be allowed. Premises: The organic farm encompassing the farmhouse extends up to the hill top. Trekking to the top of the hill can be arranged. The farm consists of coffee, plums, bananas, avocados, pears, custard apple, jack fruit and many more fruit plantations and organic vegetable plantations. The farm also boasts of wide variety of seasonal flora and fauna. Climate: Min 12 C (feels 10 C) to 17 C in Winter. Min 17 C to 27 C in Summer. Weather: Pleasant in every way. Perennial natural spring water. Food: Guests can bring the raw materials and cook the food with the appliances provided in the kitchen. They can also request the caretaker to prepare the food for them. Kindly note that the food prepared by the caretaker shall be on the basis of the available raw material stock. Guests can also purchase the raw materials and request the caretaker to customize the food accordingly. The caretaker will charge on a reasonable basis depending on the nature of the food prepared and the requests made. Access: Guests can access the whole house. Caretaker will accompany them around the farm. He will also guide on the whereabouts. Guests can relax and unwind amidst the serene surroundings. A 100 meter altitude guided trek is at the disposal within the farm. Moonlight dinner can be arranged if weather permits. Candle light dinner/moonlight dinner/Campfire/bonfire can be arranged upon request (Reasonable arrangement costs may be levied). Guests can go to Kodaikanal town for sightseeing, shopping, boat riding, cycling and other activities. There are a myriad of picturesque locations in the farm for photography lovers. Cabs, taxis and timely route buses are available. Other important Points to Note: Power cuts and power fluctuations are common in hilly areas. Hence the above promised amenities may be impacted intermittently. Cellphone carrier signals are received in only some locations in the premises. It is advised to use the provided landline and no extra charge is levied for making calls. There may be barking guard dogs in the premises for security purposes. They will be chained at all times. Guests can bring their own pets. Responsibility to take care of them lies solely with the guests. Non-vegetarian food and alcohol are not allowed. We trust your conduct in cleanliness and behavior. The place is free from all the hustle and bustle of the urbane world. Guests will experience picturesque locations, serene surroundings and tranquil atmosphere.
