It is adviced to check if the tuk tuk has a working metre to make sure you get charged according to the metre. It is strongly advised not to swim in the ocean just in front of the building as it is reef area. If you wish to have a sea swim you could walk along the beach a kilometer or so on both sides to find bathing areas which are used by locals and are known to be safe.
