Home in Terlingua

It took my husband nine winters to rebuild the ruin from the miners back in the 40's. It has a 10" memory full size mattress, a light, coffee maker, electric tea kettle, microwave, and an outdoor covered patio area with a refrigerator. It is rustic and special at the same time. It has an electric heater for cool nights and a small AC for warmer ones. We have WiFi on the compound, however, reception in the rock Ruin is iffy at best, reception is in the Patio area of the Ruin and common area, The space The ruin is located in the Ghost Town and within walking distance to restaurants, gift shops, and bars. It was rebuilt by my husband Joe, it took 9 years (winters) to finally get it roofed with a cement floor. The Ruin has it's own 1/2 bath, the toilet has a bidet attached to it. We also have a compost on the compound. Guest access The ruin has it's own covered outside sitting area with an awesome view of the Chisos Mountains. The separate 1/2 bath (toilet and sink) is next to the Ruin and is designated for Ruin guests. Since the 1/2 bath does not have a shower, we have 3 showers to choose from on the compound, they are also used by other guests as well. Other things to note Wifi will not work in the Ruin because it is made of rock, and many times not even in the Patio area. To get wifi, it is best to go to the tables in the common area on the compound if it is not working in the Ruin's patio.
