The Writer's Hearth: a quiet haven on Willapa Bay

Unlatch the gate to a Cape Cod style cottage, 180 degree bay view, large garden, and wrap-around porch. Open the private exterior entry door and enter the furnished room with king-size bed and full bath. Feeling creative? A writing desk, chair, and WiFi await. Hungry? Bottled water, chocolate, coffee, tea, snacks, and seasonal fruit fill the cupboard. Tired of eating out? Bring your home-cooked or purchased local take-out meals and heat them in the room's microwave. The space The Writer's Hearth is a quiet haven for all creatives (writers, poets, musicians, thinkers, inventors, artists) and travelers to tap into their imagination and talents. Located on Willapa Bay, the meticulously cared-for suite is designed to transport you to another world where you can work on ideas, write, compose, or just think. The area boasts a number of year-round restaurants and bistros. For all of you who prefer to take your meals at home, an in-suite niche is equipped with refrigerator, toaster oven, microwave, coffee maker and electric water kettle. No dogs are permitted with the exception of service animals. Occasionally, a guest becomes ill or must return home for personal reasons during their stay. If this happens, The Writer's Hearth does not provide refunds. We will, however, credit the guest with another stay based on the remaining balance of the original stay and available occupancy at the time of reregistering. Be sure to inquire about our weekly rates. Most importantly, our mission is to honor diversity and equality, by doing so, our doors are open to all persons of color, culture, and race. Guest access Our guests are always welcome to walk the grounds, use the suite's two patios, or watch the sunrise from The Writer's Hearth's wrap-around porch. On warm days, sit on the porch with your laptop; our WiFi signal reaches outside. Bring your earphones for use after 10 p.m. Sunny or cloudy, the dynamic water/forest views are inspirational. The area has an abundance of local walking and bike trails, wildlife refuge, state parks, and, of course, monthly festivals to distract you. For those who love the water, we offer the Pacific Ocean, 1.3 miles to the west, and Willapa Bay, across the road. Don't forget to bring your boots to wear as you walk amongst the grasses during low tide. Willapa Bay is famous for its clams and oysters. Be sure not miss this local delicacy...YUM! During your stay It is our hope you will use The Writer's Hearth to germinate your next project, finish your book, compose your opus, or just "veg." Our goal is to provide a place of solitude while you can relax or work. Your proprietor is a writer, editor, former university professor, and corporate executive. She is available to handle any issues, questions, or conversations that might arise during your stay. Simply call, text, or knock on the door. Other things to note Washington State is known for its dynamic natural beauty, and the Long Beach peninsula is one of the state's most popular destinations. The Writer's Hearth suite is a self-contained home away from home, work, or life's day-to-day busy-ness. The nights are quiet and tranquil. Winter gales can be fierce, and many travel to the area during winter just to see their effect on the ocean. No wonder there are 2,000 recorded shipwrecks off our shores. Be sure to open the window and let in the fresh air. You'll sleep like a baby for sure.
