Welcome to The Lunar Lodge, a one-of-a-kind desert retreat located less than half mile from the Indian Cove entrance of Joshua Tree National Park. Our artfully designed home offers direct access to the Mojave desert, you can hike straight from the backyard into vast desert. This space is dedicated for nature enthusiasts wanting to reconnect with the grounding energy of the desert, adventurous mountain top explorers, and those looking to stargaze and relax by night and pool by day. The space The home was designed with desert daydreaming in mind and the surrounding wildlife encourages one to sit still and be with nature. You can expect to see many quail, hummingbirds, roadrunners, jackrabbits, lizards, coyote, and the occasional desert tortoise while enjoying the fully fenced acre adjacent to the wild desert. The backyard was designed for the modern desert entertainer, featuring a charming outdoor dining set overlooking the mountains, outdoor yard games, seating area to unwind, and a fire pit with views of the starry night sky above. The Milky Way can be seen most nights due to the lack of light pollution in our quaint desert town. The home is conveniently located between Joshua Tree and Twentynine Palms. The Boy Scout Trail and Rattlesnake Canyon are located directly behind the property enticing lodgers to escape into the desert and explore its wonder. The Boy Scout Trail reveals the transition from the Sonoran Desert into the Mojave and Rattlesnake Canyon offers some of the best bouldering in the country. Be ready to slow yourself down and take in the grandeur of the surrounding desert. As of April, you can expect hot days and cool evenings. This is the perfect time for stargazing in the high desert at night or cold plunging in the cowboy pools while watching an epic sunrise over the mountains. Desert flora is in full bloom and fauna is active throughout the day and into the night. Guest access The front door has code access that will be given a few hours before your arrival. There is parking in the driveway and garage. The home is located in a quiet residential neighborhood, please be respectful of our neighbors. Other things to note Cowboy tubs are available seasonally March 1 to October 31. Currently, it's the warm season, with highs of 90s and lows of 60s, perfect weather for the pool and enjoy the outside! Don't forget your sunscreen! Pro tip: To avoid long lines, use the Twentynine Palms entrance to the park. Free entrance into park located directly behind the lodge through Indian Cove. Many trails and bouldering from beginner to expert, only 0.5 miles from the lunar lodge. Would suggest The Nature Trail for beginners or exploring the boulders in Rattlesnake Canyon. Follow signs for 'Day Use' Pet Friendly: We're pet friendly! Two well-behaved pups allowed. There is a $100 pet fee, per pet, with a maximum of 2 pets paid at time of booking. We’re sorry we do not accept cats. You will be automatically charged for 1 pet and the second pet will need to be paid with a request for payment. No pups on the furniture and no pups left alone in the house (unless crated) or in the yard and please dispose of any pet waste & be mindful of urine as it will stain. Excess pet hair, feces left behind, urine stains and animal damage is not covered by the pet fee. EVENTS/ COMMERCIAL USE: In case anybody is found involved in unauthorized activities that are used for personal gain on the property, you will be penalized according to the Host's discretion only.
