Experience rustic, soulful, ocean-side living just a 1-minute walk from the sand. This cozy 2-bedroom indoor/outdoor cottage has beautiful views from each room. The main room boasts an indoor fireplace, special reading nook, and a roof-level deck overlooking the ocean. The Skye Sea Cottage has a spacious, open-plan, lounge and dining room area with built-in braai and a massive rooftop deck overhead - the best place to enjoy coffee at sunrise and a sundowner/braai at sunset. Book today! The space The Skye Beach Cottage is located in a paradisiacal part of South Africa's Garden Route and is one of four accommodations of the Skye Beach Guesthouse. The cottage overlooks the pristine coastline and offers a rustic indoor-outdoor experience. It is fairly basic but clean and comfortable. The outside area is spacious and scenic and includes one large roof-top deck. The deck area is perfect for sunrise coffee's and sunset sundowners; as well as refreshing yoga/pilates sessions with panoramic ocean views and the sound of waves crashing all around you. The deck area below boasts a large braai/bbq area, outdoor shower area, and natural flora and fauna. It offers a unique, cool and comfortable space without compromising the sensation of being in nature. And make no mistake--you are in nature. Because this is an indoor/outdoor accommodation, with a private outdoor bath and shower, during your stay, you may possibly encounter some wildlife, whether it be: a rain spider, snails, some ants, a shongololo... but we treat them as welcome guests. If the thought of nature & wildlife is off-putting to you, then perhaps Skye Beach Cottage is not the best option for you. Please try one of our other more traditional units (see below). OTHER GUESTS If other guests are staying at Skye Beach House, you will likely be aware of their presence at some point as they share the same driveway and parking area. Don’t be afraid though, as these are just fellow beach lovers looking to rest and revive in a tranquil location. Each accommodation has its own private entrance, facilities (fully equipped kitchens, bathrooms, etc). QUIET HOURS You may occasionally see or hear other people but we appreciate all Skye Beach Guests to be respectful when it comes to noise and quiet hours begin at 11pm. BATH TOWELS Bath towels are provided, but please bring your own beach towels. PETS Small house-trained pets are allowed upon request for a small fee, but must have their own beds, please. Guest access Guests have access to their entire space and shared grounds on the property, including 1 parking space along the shared driveway. The beachfront is just across the road. Other things to note WEATHER ALONG THE GARDEN ROUTE It may also be worth mentioning that, despite our deepest desires, we are unfortunately not in control of the weather (of which the Garden route can be very unpredictable until about 2 days prior). If you see it might rain a bit during your stay, consider packing a raincoat or go make memories in the ocean... nothing quite like a refreshing dip on a rainy day and an adventure is only as fun as you make it! :-) Please note this accommodation has a full kitchen, a private open air shower and bathroom, built in braai, rooftop deck, and private bedrooms.
