But paradise comes with geckos doing push-ups on the wall, ants throwing invisible parties, and frogs yelling love songs at 2AM during rainy season. Our pool is clean, but chlorine-lite — frogs like that too. We do catch and release them. They do come back. They're loyal like that. If your version of a tropical holiday includes zero insects, we suggest booking a spaceship to Mars. 👉 Please don’t ask us to kill them. We live with them. You can close your doors, grab a bug spray, or join the gecko appreciation club. ------- 2. You’re afraid of DOGS. Welcome to the village — every home has its own four-legged security team. They bark. That’s their CV. They might bark if you walk past, or ride a scooter slowly (they hate indecision). But relax — in over 7 years of hosting, no one has ever been bitten. (Except emotionally. By the sunset. That one bites hard.) ------- 3. You don’t ride a SCOOTER, and don’t plan to use GOJEK / GRAB / taxi. We love it here, but it’s not downtown Ubud. We’re surrounded by beaches — 7 of them, actually — all within 10–20 min by scooter. On foot? You’ll find a few local warungs and probably some goats. If you’re expecting Starbucks around the corner, let us gently say: not gonna happen. 👉 If any of these sound like deal-breakers, no hard feelings. Truly. It’s better for both of us to avoid disappointment (you know, like your last blind date). ----- If you do book and leave a bad review about frogs, ants, or "why no café next door" — we’ll cry.
