Exclusive bathroom. First gunboats of Revolutionary War were built in Whitehall and held off the British in 1776. Thus, Whitehall is considered birthplace of the Navy. Some say Bigfoot roams surrounding hills. Others have gone hiking, skiing or kayaking. We start them off with a full breakfast. The library is up the block. Main Street hosts Freekopolis, a games and comics store, and the Amtrak station. Whitehall is a stop on the Adirondack route between New York City's Penn Station and Montreal. Fairhaven, Vermont is seven miles away and Castleton, Vermont, an Amtrak stop on the Ethan Allen line, is 14 miles. Rutland, Vermont is 21 miles east. Many visitors come for the Star Trek Original Set Tour in Ticonderoga, NY., 28 miles north. Many private boats stop for the night on the Champlain Canal in town. Other things to note Two cats live in the 1858 House. They are feral rescues and normally shy away from guests. The Airbnb suite accommodates one or two adults in double bed; one or two adults in double bed and a child in twin bed; or one or two adults in double bed and third adult (at $50 extra charge) in twin bed. Bicycles may be kept in the foyer. Room for one or two cars in driveway. Breakfast, organic in every way possible, is served at any hour guests specify or packed to go.
